Nice catch!

Check the battery though, if its there remove it, if it has leaked then you'll need to get all that nasty battery acid off...

Just bought a WD TV Live HD media server + wifi dongle... Finally going to rip all my DVD's onto my file server and stream them wirelessly to my TV. Tiny little box, and it runs Linux. Unfortunately not powerful enough to run UAE, I'd think, but I've got my Minimig under the TV anyway.

@Djay - Good haul. Always nice to hear about people getting given stuff that would normally just rot. Great to know it's gone to a good home

I tested my A600HD... After checking the PSU (always do this before plugging in!!) it kicked into life and showed me the boot screen. Stuffed a WB disk in and up popped WB. Brilliant. Then I realised that it should have booted from the HDD. A quick tickle with a screwdriver and the mystery was solved... There is no HDD!! Bummer! Still, it has got an extra 1Mb RAM and was a snip. Aside a few tweaks in the keyboard department it'll be a nice little project to while away the Spring hours. It's in a right mucky, yellow state, so I'm going to use the Retr0bright approach before stuffing it with more RAM, HDD and an 030/25 board!

No probs, they nasty little critters those batteries!

There are a fair few topics about battery damage and how to clean the affected area, if you have any green goo on the motherboard.

Left untreated it will slowly eat away at the copper tracks

A quick serach will bring them up.

Regarding the floppy, might just need one of those cleaning kits/disks run through it but more help in the thread depending on the exact issue!

All the best.

Steve.

Did you just say map and novella? Well, would be great if you consider to scan them for HOL

Today I managed to increase my retro gaming, Spectrum and Amiga collection in one fell swoop!

1 x Vectrex videogame console, tested and working like a dream
1 x Spectrum+ to add to my collection (11 Spectrums and growing )
1 x Amiga 600HD - complete with spare A500PSU, Deluxe Paint 4 and a collection of joysticks!

I've not had chance to check the Miggy over yet as I picked them up on the way to work, so I'm well-keen to see what's on the HDD!! The case has yellowed horrendously, but I deep clean all my collectables when I get them so this'll make a cool project.

All a snip at £80 for the lot (the Vectrex is worth that alone ).

I'm so excited!!!!

Very nice find indeed i wish i could find a spectrum+ here in Aus
