Question Datatypes in older(every) software...

There was a tool, similar to ModePro in some ways, but this one patched older software to use the datatypes system.
Lets say if your DPaint doesn't like the PNG format it could load it, with the help of that tool.

Must have been at least 15 years since I used it the last time.
And now I cant remember the name of it....
Old pal Google isn't of much help if you ask unspecific questions.

Did anyone ever use something like that?

I used this some time ago: http://aminet.net/search?query=autopeg

It works with JPEG only but is rather quick.

I once wrote a similar program with datatypes, but it was too slow IMHO.

Thanks a lot but thats not it.
I know it used any datatype. At least for pictures. I used it for painting tools that had only IFF support.
Pictures where converted to IFF in the background so that any program(defined in a list) could load any kind of picture format, if you have the proper DT.

edit: and yes IIRC it was slow as hell... ^^

edit2: solved - http://aminet.net/package/util/cdity/HappyDT

Now I'm happy......

There was another tool - actually published by a friend of mine - called DataChrome.

I know. Stumbled across that one while looking for HappyDT, not knowing its name.
However, away from doing the same thing, it has a permanent opened window on the WB and has no exclude list.

Thumbs up

All I asked for was one tool for C4D to load whatever texture I throw at it. Thanks thats the best so far. Even better than HappyDT. Cause this one needs no keyfile.

That way I can share the texture folder with the PC version without any restrictions for the old version of C4D.
Saves me the hassle of converting all the crap I leeched from the interwebs and some space on my HDD.

I could convert them but why have the same file twice on the hdd when there is a much more convenient way?
