WorkBench & Floppy Discs
Hi,
I am finding that I am using FS-UAE more booting to my Workbench HD, and I can't see a way to add floppy disks on the fly. If I know what disks I wan to use in advance then I can add them before I start the emulation, but usually I compute 'on the fly' myself and don't really know what I am going to do until after I am in my emulated environment. Is there a way to do this (like on winUAE) or is this something you will implement in the future, I am using a Mac. Regards Ump. |

Well, i was having similar problem, which I resolved as follows:
1. Create a directory where you'll have floppy images (for example ~/floppies) 2. In configuration for your Workbench (or Host.fs-uae) just add: [config] ... floppies_dir = $HOME/floppies floppy_image_0 = floppy1 floppy_image_1 = floppy2 floppy_image_2 = floppy3 floppy_image_3 = floppy4 3. Now, while running emulator, and want to attach some disk image, you have to copy it (using Finder, or terminal, or whatever) to that directory under name floppyX, where X is the number. Then, on emulator side just hit F12, go to floppy menu and attach desired floppy. I know, that is just a workaround and extra work to do, but it's work for me, until real solution come out. |

Hi Umpa! Yes, using (any) floppy image in a Workbench environment is a bit akward, as you need to resort to hacks (such as he one suggested by gryf), or even restart the emulation with an updated floppy image list. The reason it is lacking is that it wasn't really needed for the main intended usage (playing games).
It is really not anything difficult about adding floppy image browsing, just some tedious GUI work, but it may perhaps be about time to get this implemented... |
