C.A.P.S. #7 Time & Magik
is partly in the zone..unfortunately it's gone over the zone's file capacity so final part is missing, will upload as soon there is room
for those who dont know how to recombine once you have all 7 parts save them to a empty directory open up a dos prompt in that directory and type copy /b tim* TimeAndMagik.zip |

Careful, I'm afraid this wildcard "shortcut" does NOT work in Win9x.
It might require you there to spell each and every file name in full! |

Trust me: Windows Commander is the solution to all your problems.

![]() But I'm always building up a worst-case scenario: Imagine you've got a 56k modem, but you got a T1 broadband at the office. You CANNOT install anything on your office PC because it's "locked". So you need a way to combine the files in best possible way, using "built-in" commands. See? I'm just trying to find the best way without any auxiliary tools to even handle this kind of situations. ![]() |

I think andreas is right. Using wildcards may join the files in the wrong order...

It worked correctly for me, Belgarath proved me wrong.
BUT: With another %COPYCMD% set, this might be different --- so I reckon it just worked by pure luck because I never ever made modifications to my %COPYCMD%! So it appears to be system-dependent... You have to note too that %COPYCMD% doesn't exist on every Windows OS, I think 9x uses a different env. variable (COMSPEC?) ![]() |

I dunno... WinRAR works pretty good at splitting up large files. Come to think of it, that's what I should have used when trying to up Virus to the zone, duh.

Guys, I mean to make CAPS better with this board, and to answer peoples questions, not to announce where to get releases. I think RCK would be happier with that too, saving on his bandwidth.
![]() Therefore, can we please not announce where to get CAPS releases in here? I don't mind, "look CAPS released another game" - but not, "found some links to some CAPS releases:". Also under this restriction, is no requests. ![]() I guess it goes without saying that posting it anywhere else is OT ![]() What do people think? I think it is a good idea, and therefore I will probably put a sticky up about it. Finding releases what not really what we had in mind for the board! I think it is pretty obvious where releases can be found anyway. Please do not stone me. ![]() |

Aw, don't worry, they just recently dropped the practice of stoning in some country, which is a good thing, very progressive & forward thinking... But then again, everybody must get stoned, someone once said... I'll be in the newsgroups myself, getting stoned, of course.
