DCTV PAL Software
Hi,
i´m looking for the PAL Software of the DCTV. Does anyone has this Software (it seems 4 disks) as ADFs and maybe the manual (PDF)? Best Regards, Alex |

I didn't check the files mentioned by emufan, but if you do and discover that those are for the NTSC DCTV, post again here. I have a PAL DCTV and the disks for it. (And the manual, but only on paper.)

I have uploaded images of the four disks which came with my PAL DCTV to The Zone.
The disks are version 1.1b (according to the file in disk 1 S directory). If anyone has any other versions of the DCTV software please let me know. |

the disks from tosec lists in s:startup-sequence: echo "DCTV v1.0"
so you have something new, thanks for uploading. Edit: Does the software needs a crack? 1.0 was "cracked" but i thought the digitizer was the "protection-dongle". Last edited by emufan; 09 October 2012 at 14:47. |

The version 1.0 TOSEC disks are probably for the NTSC DCTV. I have no idea whether they work well (or at all) with PAL DCTVs. At the very least, the NTSC software is likely to only support NTSC image sizes.
It would be interesting to find out how well the PAL software disks work with an NTSC DCTV. I also have no idea whether it needs to be cracked in order to be used without a DCTV. If I remember correctly the DCTV connects to the Amiga monitor and parallel ports. So it would in theory be possible for the code to check for the DCTV hardware. Maybe someone can try it and see? |

If I remember correctly, the NTSC software at least would run fine even without the hardware attached (obviously, everything but Convert would not be useful). I know I used to sit around playing with the conversion options on my old A500 without having the hardware connected when I was a kid :P

tested 1.1b pal with winuae, a1200 environment, ClassicWb96. and is working here. can use the "paint" part and do "convert" dctv images to ham6 , "convert" does not know about ham8.
when starting "digitize", it pops up a requester, missing the hardware on par port. IIRC, the tosec version just crashs/gurus here. looks good. no need for a crack i think. |
