The HARDEST platform game ever!! in any Amiga (2012 Edition)

Hi guys,
Finally I could select following 8 games.
All I bought from Ebay in 2011-2012, then I played on my CD32 and analogic FDD.
Here is my list:

Battletoads
Carver
Chuckie Egg II
ELF (Microvalue)
Exolon
Fallen Angel
Hoi
Yolanda

My opinion, ELF is the one (The hardest).

Guardian Angel(Freddy Hardest) is famous as insane game, however,
I noticed that it is much easier than Fallen Angel(similar fighting game),
and anyone will be able to beat.

Battletoads (CD32 version) are known as nightmare version, harder than NES version, too.
Carver and Chuckie II are nearly impossible hard game.
About Exolon, I might have to play again and again to know details.
Hoi and Yolanda are well-known games as hardest game.

I am glad to many many opinions from any amiga gamers at EAB.
Thank you

Enemy : Tempest of Violence is pretty tough, even the easyplay version. And unlike ALL the games in your list, it's actually a good game :P

I can't get enough of these threads For me it's still the first "Shadow of the Beast".

But actually... after beating the NES Ninja Gaiden III and The Last Ninja on the C64 without any cheats or savestates, I have to say - I STILL CANNOT FINISH GODS. FOR THE LOVE OF GODS THIS "SUPPOSEDLY EASY MIGGY PLATFORMER" IS IMPOSSIBLE.

Alright, so there you are and I feel a bit better now xD

I feel like a lot of these are hard just because they are crappily designed.

Hi!!

Thank you very much for replies !!
I'd like to play these game like "Warlock's Quest" .
Nice! But it might be slightly easier than "Night Walk", G'n'G rip off.
Now some games are a bit expensive on Ebay, I think, but I keep searching.
Thanks!!

I wrote about several games of "Top 9".
http://nitta.u-me.jp/sainokawara/sainokawara.html

ELF is crappy designed...? nope, That was completely well-designed game as hard game.
My introduce about details of "ELF":
http://nitta.u-me.jp/xmas/elf/elf.main.html

Almost language is Japanese, (Sorry!!) however,
there are many pictures (png files) of MAPs ,my handmade.

I know "ELF" is expensive on Ebay now...sometimes it might be listed as around $10,if you have a luck...
Please attention:
ELF's ABD is Lv.4, so you have to use whdload and slave on A1200 or CD32,
ELF's original disk has crappy protection! Beware!
This game is also released as "Mega Pack II",including "Man from the Council",which is also insane game by same creator,"Pumpkin Soft"...

Re Gods. It's important to really master the earlier levels so you gain as many bonus lives as possible. Learn all the tricks and bonuses before trying to complete the game. When you can get the end with a healthy stock of lives, you can afford to be a bit sloppy at the end. That's how I completed it anyway

There is a lot of 'hardest games ever'. For example - did anyone of you complete Walker? Also once mentionet Enemy is stone hard. And many other examples.

It is on each player. I consider Gods easy, for example, but can not complete more than few levels in Agony or SVIW or even Banshee, that many games take as average hard.

And also many games are relatively easy, but have a moment that seems to be unbeatable. For me that is level 4-4 of Ruff n Tumble or train level in Turrican 3.

Many of the games remarked are not platformers.

Some very hard Amiga platformers are:

Ghost Battle - Horrible graphics and horrible hard.

Death Trap - Also very hard, with an unfinished aspect.

Nebulus 2 - Very hard, but what really will desesperate you are the loading times.

Hudson Hawk - Veeeery hard,.. but playable anyway. despite some unfriendly controls.

One which is hard to begin with, but is incredibly well designed and hooking is Traps'N'Treasures one of the very best from amiga softology.. and with outstanding sound fx and musics.

Palette usage itsnt very good.. the colouring lacks of style and nuances. And yes, human figures are amateur.

Anyway it was his first commercial work.. my first works werent that good.

Of course, later graphics of Henk Nieborg were pretty cool.. Lionheart and Flink has very nice artwork. =D

Respect Death Trap I say it looks a little unfinished. I not saying it be simply bad, they are interesting.

Walker was a solid game! I recall having the demo initially then buying the original as I enjoyed it so much ... only to be disappointed when I couldn't (and still haven't) complete it!

For some reason it reminded me of the robot in Robocop that was one of the many on 'display' and messes up...

>Sword

Surely Sword might be hard for real Amiga! Nice! Thanks!!
It does not seem to require fast RAM or HD,
so we will be able to challenge itself easily on my CD32 and FDD system,
if we can find this game on ebay.

By the way,
many hard games' longplay videos were uploaded on youtube in this year.
here is rest:

Elf
http://nitta.u-me.jp/xmas/elf/elf.main.html

Chuckie Egg II
http://nitta.u-me.jp/sainokawara/chu...ckie.main.html

Exolon
http://nitta.u-me.jp/sainokawara/exo...olon.main.html

All 3 games would not boot from FDD on A1200 or CD32(+FDD).
WHDLoad slaves are required.

I am a bit busy for other amiga and mega drive games review,
so language is Japanese only even now...sorry.
My Japanese also has difficult words so it mess up when you translate using tool such as Google.
But maybe some maps(png files) I made is useful.
Someone who want to make longplay videos for these 3 games,
why not visit and refer my site?! LOL

PS.

Oh, These days I confirmed ALL of "Man from the Council".
It was made from same developer of "ELF", Pumpkinsoft !!!
I will inform details in the next year, 2013.
That game has 4 crappy platform stages, however,
it was HORRIBLE SUPER HARD if we try beating real...

I noticed that Assassins CD4 (released in 1999) has Sword demo.
I also thought that it was better if we press red button to Jump.
So final boss becomes nearly impossible to beat on CD32+FDD (or a1200,etc...) system.
