Siegfried Copy 1.9 or 2.2
Hi,
is it possible to find somewhere a dump (adf) of Siegfried Copy 1.9 / 2.2? (NOT version 1.1) I think it's not sold anymore. Am I right? |

I will dump v1.4, no problem. Haven't tried to copy something with the v1.9SE update yet. Check the zone in a few minutes.

I have no clue. I copied the few update files manually and it starts fine. I'm too lazy for copy tests. Post here, if it works.

.Siegfried copy looked interesting to me because it can save to a device different from a floppy (by selecting DAT instead of DF1, DF2 etc.). The bad news is that it can do it for DOS-only floppies, not for protected ones (NIBBLE mode) .It could probably do it on RAD:, but I don't know how to configure a RAD: and how to use it. The RAD: option appears "greyed" in Siegfried Copy. Last edited by Supamax; 02 May 2009 at 00:23. Reason: typos |

You need the hardware dongle for heavier protected games, haven't tried the "copy to file" mode yet. I have only a few originals, had no problems to copy Kick Off with a copylock protection. I should try Turrican 1+2 too.
Edit: True, no file copy option in nibble mode. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 01 May 2009 at 22:43. |

![]() I can of course use Powercopy, but since it's not cracked yet it's not very comfortable to use as it is (AR III dump + CF swap trick etc.). And... about the RAD option? How can I "activate" it? If it's previously undumped (and it would seem so), YES! ![]() |

I keep wondering why Powercopy is the only one capable of saving on other devices than floppies or RAM... isn't it strange that no other authors thought about implementing this feature in their copiers (first of all, X-Copy) ?

You have to add this to devs:mountlist
Code:
RAD:
Device = ramdrive.device
Unit = 0
Flags = 0
Surfaces = 2
BlocksPerTrack = 11
Reserved = 2
Interleave = 0
LowCyl = 0 ; HighCyl = 79
Buffers = 5
BufMemType = 1

I suppose I can: - prepare my HD for the use of RAD:, and mount it - run Siegfried Copy from the HD - read a copy-protected disk to RAD: - exit Siegfried Copy - find my file on RAD:, so that I can archive it I hope so (even if Powercopy is the absolute BEST out there) [EDIT] RAD should resist a warm reset, right (even under WinUAE) ? |

I guess the RAD works with Amiga DOS disks only.

I'm sorry, mate. I am set up on a different machine at the moment trying to troubleshoot the problem with my internet connection and I don't have WinRAR installed, so I wasn't able to see inside the archive. So, I just uploaded it for you in the hope that it might be useful. Oh well, no harm done I suppose. ![]() prowler |

Old thread here, I'm also looking for Siegfried Copy 2.2, anybody?
Another question: I couldn't see the dumped files mentioned here in this thread in the zone. Have they been deleted? |

found another siegfried copy tool, dated one year after the "2.0" version.
this makes me thinking. brain-file and library version are higher, compared to "2.0". so are the functions, within the program; the older "1.7" got a sync/index" copy mode, the allegedly "2.0" doesnt. put the 2 version again into the zone: SFC1_7-14.09.95.DMS SFC2_0-22.04.94.DMS beg your pardon, if the "2.0" is just a fake. Edit: "2.0" is hexeditors artistic work: http://aadb.amiga.me/data/siegfriedcopy19se.html Last edited by prowler; 29 August 2012 at 22:59. Reason: Rewind. |

i got some luck and found something at archive.org.
in 2001 Amiga-Arena had a special, giving away full version of SiegfriedTools. version has the sync/index copy mode, as well as the "device" menu entry ( missing siegfried.device on disk ). it is Siegfried Copy 1.9SE (30.12.1997) and Siegfried Antivirus Pro 1.6SE (03.12.1997) , thats not so bad. look in the zone or here, for some more full versions. Edit: i removed the older versions from the zone. Last edited by prowler; 29 August 2012 at 23:00. Reason: Rewind. |

@emufan: I have restored your last two posts. They are less confusing like that IMHO.

i think the 2.0 is older compared to 1.9SE. binary datestamp is younger on 1.9SE (2001 - fits to the give-away event on website), the libraries are larger in size, mainprogram is missing the "index,sync" copy mode entry.
still curious about the siegfried.device, which i cannot find. must be part of 2.2 only. so the search continuous. Last edited by emufan; 12 September 2012 at 23:18. Reason: typo 1.9 (ok) vs. 1.95 (wrong) |
