[FOUND: Galdregon's Domain] Looking for old Amiga RPG

Hi there

I have a nice little collection of emulated Amiga games from when I briefly owned one of those babies back in around 1989/90, but there has always been one game I owned which I have failed to track down because I can't remember the damn name of it.

It was a first-person 3D role-playing game. When I say 3D, I don't mean true 3D, more sprite based with distant features, eg forests, getting bigger in jumps as you moved towards them, and (I think) you turned at 90 degree angles. The forests are always what stick in my mind. There was a little black hole in them (I used to call them assholes, I was sixteen) that you could enter them by, then walk around forest paths (I think).

The only other thing I remember is that you could have limited communication with NPCs - all I remember about that is near the beginning of the game a woman saying something along the lines of 'Why don't you come to dinner with us?'

I know that's a bit vague but any ideas would be appreciated. It's been bugging me for years and has in my mind an almost mythical status. I'm sure I didn't just imagine it.

Nope that's not the one, nor EotB I. I don't recall it being Dungeon Master-esque like that, more wandering around grassy plains with forests with holes in. Must've been a pretty obscure game. I have no idea how I came to own it.

Hang on. You said in your original post it was first person (like dungeon master). So now its no longer a first person game you are looking for?

No.. it was a first-person perspective, turning (I think) at 90 degree angles, just not based in a dungeon, more open air...

Post back even if you don't find it since it could indeed be obscure. Perhaps it was not a commercial game. Do you remember if it was PD/shareware?

FOUND! by searching list of 1st person RPGs, & confirmed by Marcuz.. Galdregon's Domain. Thank you so much Weird playing a game you have thought about, even dreamed about, for over 20 years. Interesting how the image you've built up in your mind over the years compares to the reality.
