Thx, all added. Funny to see there was (is?) a company called Starcraft responsible for some of those conversions.

Btw, Beast 2 and 3 on PC98 are not Shadow of the Beast conversions .

Thanks anyway.

Edit: Idd, seems the game was not released, although a prototype version has been dumped:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_Toppler
links to:
http://www.atariprotos.com/8bit/soft...wertoppler.htm
which mentions:
Quote:
So how come Tower Toppler was never released? According to the programmer (who also did the Atari 7800 version), Atari decided to stop supporting the Atari 8-bit game market and pulled the plug on the project. Atari may also have been concerned the Tower Toppler's odd artifacted color scheme looked quite nasty on the XEGS, which was Atari's main 8-bit game machine at the time. Although it has long been assumed that Tower Toppler was destined for release in the UK, the game was actually developed on an NTSC machine and has issues when played on PAL systems (such as no colors and it crashes during the bonus round). No matter what the reason for its cancellation, Tower Toppler is a wonderful game and an excellent edition to the 8-bit library
I'll mention this version as a note in the entry.

Wel, MG lists a DOS Spanish release and they also have two screenshots that seem genuine.
http://www.mobygames.com/game/human-...e/release-info

Also, it seems like the emulated version online you can find here:
http://www.80stopgames.com/doshkm.html
is the genuine game (never played any other version so can't be 100% sure), with EGA/CGA selection.

So, IMO it should be added and I will do so in a few days, unless someone gives some counter-arguments.

Thx.
Did you use a specific version (TOSEC name please*)? Or did something special?
I find it difficult to believe that it was missed when the entry and the screenshots were made. Therefore I think it might be worthy to double check each version of the game.
Perhaps there is one version available online this is an early (beta?) revision and another one is final (the one with the release date)?

*: Actually, it does not seem to be in TOSEC, so if you were kind enough to point out were you got it from.

I searched a bit and found this dicussion where it mentions one (limited) version on Aminet which would be from 1994 and another one from 1991:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=4099

I suppose that the Aminet version was used for the current HOL entry.

Thanks. I see 2.9 in the filename so I guess there are indeed different revisions of the game.

In the readme of the version available on Aminet:
"This is Disk 1 of FarWest Demo Version V2.91, working now on A1200."

After a bit of testing, the so-called "Far West v2.9 (1991)(Automagick Industries)(De)(Disk 1 of 3).FK" on the EAB file server is more likely to be 2.5.

In the Lies_mich, you can read:

"Far West: Version 2.5
---------------------

Dies ist Version 2.5 von Far West."

So the version on Aminet should probably not been taken into account for anything like the release because a) it is a demo b) it is from a further revision.

There are some questions now.

Is there a version 1?
If not, which was the first one officially released (2.5?)
Which was the last revision released (2.91?) and where can a full (not demo) version be found?

I guess the most likely candidate to take care of all that would be a TOSEC member speaking German .

Edit: Well, the Aminet version also mentions 1991 at the end of the credits, so I guess it is safe to assume 1991 was indeed the year of first release.
Still, I wish there was more information about all that.

PS: Personal note, the copyright/date appear at the end of the rolling credits at the beginning.

Titan conversion added, thanks.

I'll be a bit more of a bother for Transputor.
First, nice catch.
However, can I ask what makes you think it is Ballbreaker II? Have you played the game and seen a full similarity?

Obviously, the games are related: Breakout in isometric view, similar HUD, common artist credited (Jon Law) and common publisher (CRL).

However, could it not be Ballbreaker I? Or perhaps a compilation of Ballbreaker I and II? Or a similar game with brand new levels?

Transputor having a 1988 copyright, like Ballbreaker II, seems to give a hint towards the game being indeed a conversion of Ballbreaker.

Interestingly, Clement Chambers, who is credited for Design in the ST version of Transputor (3rd screenshot):
http://www.atarilegend.com/games/gam...hp?game_id=244
is also credited for Design of the CPC version (see links below)
But not in the ZX version (?).

Also, only the ZX version has a distinct title for Ballbreaker II. The CPC version seems more like an updated Ballbreaker I (1988 added in the copyright, but similar title screen).

Therefore, if you have some other elements, I'd be thankful for you stating them.
Otherwise, I guess I'll have to start both games and compare them.

Note to self:
If Transputor is indeed the conversion of a Ballbreaker game, then also add CPC as conversion platform:

Thanks. All 3 of them added.

Probably the last time I will do some work on HOL until my move is finished. So, unless ofc another HOL member takes care of the contributions, keep posting and I will take care of things later (besides this post will play the role of a bookmark so that I know when I last stopped).

I see you have been reading/watching a lot of stuff in French recently. Planning a trip in France during the summer?

Thanks. Avina Blue conversion added.
Same thing for Gnome Ranger but also added conversions for:
ZX Spectrum: http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infos...cgi?id=0006357
DOS: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/gnome-ranger

I can't find screenshots for the Apple II version that Mobygames lists, but the Clue Sheet for the game also lists it as existing so I will add that conversion too. Same thing for the Mac version.

Thanks. I'll add that later.
I'd like to check the full version (linked in the Wikipedia page now as pointed in one of the comments) first to be sure everything is genuine, since the story behind it seems a bit complex
As it will probably be fine I will take this as an opportunity to take conversion screenshots.

Do you remember how you found those links?

It seems like this FTP is a mirror of Josh's manuals website.
Not really sure how we deal with those then.

Thanks for the information anyway. I have "read" the article via Google Translate. Two questions:

- If I understand correctly, he mentions there are no conversion (Pc was too weak etc....).
Is this correct and therefore can I set it to Amiga original game = yes?

- What was his relationship with Jesper Kyd? I don't understand if he just mentions has an example of someone he knew who succeeded or if they worked together at one point.
I don't need a translation of that part, just want to know the basic idea, out of curiosity.
