I use iPhone and check eab throughout my day, so yeah an eab app would be good... The iPhone browser doesn't do the full site very well

Yes please. I'm on an Android/Desire, but currently never visit EAB via mobile because the full site is too much like hard work on a small screen.

An iPhone app would be great. The full site works well on an iPad, but it isn't as easy to navigate on the iPhone.

Why would you need a special program for this? Are the browsers on those platforms incompatible with this site, or vice versa?

This poll is missing the most important option: "I don't have such a device and I'm against it nevertheless."

It also missing "I do have such a device and I'm against it nevertheless", which is what I would have chosen.

I have Android on one of my machines but it sucks balls, I will be deleting it soon. And the less said about Crapple and their garbage products the better.

HTC Desire S user here and eabmobile seems perfectly useable to me, it has all the features i need so don't really see the point in a dedicated app.

Edit: I realise my opinion sounded selfish so would like to add that whilst i myself have no use for such an app i guess theres plenty of people that do (those with small screens etc)

Works well on my Galaxy s2 using Dolphin HD browser
Well apart from the pop up search menu anyway.
On smaller screens I can see a use for the app thou.

And if your device does not have a usable browser, you probably should not have spent money on it in the first place. Seriously - these are not the days of WAP anymore!

Why should you be against an app that other users can use and that enables them to have a better integrated experience from EAB in their smartphones?

Some say browsing the full EAB in a phone browser is okay, some say browsing EAB Mobile in their phones is okay and some say that maybe, if such an app is available would be better than okay for them. Having the options is what counts. One is entitled to use whatever form is best for them to, once again, have a better experience from EAB. Being against about one thing that does not even exist... well at least in the end you'll have the option to not use it, and use EAB on your smartphone the way that best suits you.

I really hope that RCK has the time to enable/make/compile/whatever such app, would be a great addition for every EAB'er on the go!

And, by the way, no, you are not entitled to anything when you visit a privately owned and operated website.

Of course not, that's exactly why the Administrator of this site is asking if the members are interested on such an app and making a thread with a poll to see if it is worth it or not.

But OK enough OT I see clearly your point.

You can use Tapatalk API that is compatible with many forum engines (that is AFAIK free of charge) and let the cost on user if he wants it (installing the paid client interface for iPhone, Android or Blackberry phones).

I use Tapatalk almost daily on XDA Developers and can only say that it's a great app. EAB would benefit immensely having such an app for our smartphones.

Is it possible us old skoolers not into this smart phone lark could have an app where a french woman phones us at home and speaks in a sexy way telling us how cool we are to still use the Commodore Amiga range of computers? I don''t mind if she talks fluent French btw.

Oooh and if the Evil Snowman can call as well to wish me a Merry Christmas

I'd like an app if it adds functionality and is just as current as going to the website, else I'd go to the website. I don't mind it. A css page template for mobiles is dead easy to do today, takes 4 hours, I'd be happy with that.

I will add Tapatalk support soon, the dedicated app seems more and more deprecated with mobile version of vB engine.
