Noticed that the WHDLoad installer is a little picky on this game. You have to click image and then insert the disk, if you have the disk in the drive and click image it will freeze with a black screen after a while. (Happened with both the budget and original release).

Strange disk format that's why it uses also strange method for ripping disk.

Does your version differ from the retail release that is supported by WHDLoad?

@fryguy : Please pick up powercopy 3.07a cracked by our fellow stingray, and use the configuration file in the parameters directory on your originals. If it works, then the installer has a problem. It powercopy shows something different from from you got in parameters menu, my version is unsupported
![]() @Galahad : not mine, i have never been able to install the game from the installer whdload on my A1200 nor Winuae (even the latest release). And i add that i own 2 retail copies of this game, and the IPF 2389 is made from my original. On my A1230/50, the screen stays black, and the disk imager desesperately try to read the original disk. Under winuae very latest release, under classicwb, it behaves the same, black screen and stuck on track counter track 1. I did the disk format parameter thru Powercopy, do you want it to convert your install to use RAWDIC ? Here you are : Track length is $1820 track 00 => side 0 amigados side 1 nosync track 01 => sync $8915 track 02 side 0 to track 04 side 0 => sync $8945 track 04 side 1 to track 09 => sync $8915 track 10 to track 11 side 0 => sync $8945 track 11 side 1 to track 19 side 0 => sync $8915 track 19 side 1 to track 24 => sync $8945 track 25 to track 32 =>sync $8915 track 33 to track 36 => sync $8945 track 37 to track 42 => sync $8915 track 43 to track 50 side 0 => sync $8945 track 51 side 1 to track 56 side 0 => $8915 track 56 side 1 to track 62 side 0 => $8945 track 62 side 1 to track 64 side 0 => $8915 track 64 side 1 to track 66 side 1 => $8945 track 67 to track 73 side 0 => $8915 track 73 side 1 to track 75 side 1 => $8945 track 76 to track 79 side 0 => AmigaDos track 79 side 1 => $4489 (Scores i think) track 80 to 81 (seems empty).

@dflrsilver Did you insert the disk after you are told to do so? Otherwise it will hang with a black screen. See my post above.

It's a problem with the loader, a RawDIC imager would fix these problems.

Ahhhhhhh thanks, i guess that you have looked phil's disk imager code ?
@fryguy : i exactly do what the disk imager says. I then get the black screen and the track counter is stuck on track 1. And then it never ends.

Well its probably due an update, as I did write it over ten years ago!!!!
Might be a drive problem your end Denis as my installer worked on my then 030 and 060, but for sure using Rawdic would be useful now and might cure your problems. But again, do your versions differ from the standard retail version? I was under the impression there was only ever one version of this game.

It's not a drive problem, the disk imager is not working, hardware and emulation.
My version is the standard retail release. Please try your imager on the ipf 2389 under winuae, it's not working from 68020 to 68040.

It's definitely a problem with the loader in the imager. There's code to fix the CPU dependent timing but I can't see that this code is called at all. Thus the loader still uses empty dbf loops for timing which means it won't work correctly on 68020+ machines.

Pfffouu..... It was not only a view problem from me
; I remember i bought back in the day carcharodon because there was a whdload install, and once i got it, i had to pick a whdload installed version of carcharodon. It's good that i saw again the problem with this one Stingray has nailed the problem and it's cool !
