Hey guys. I'd like to post a new render the way you want it with a blue theme. What kind of sizes do you want the render to be in?

And thanks for referring to me when posting your changed versions Much appreciated!

Here's the first test in 1920x1080 for you to see. It's a bit dark and I'm rendering another lighter version. Only takes 5 minutes so a bit different than the original render times

You're very welcome mate, it was the least we could do for your work Oh and Welcome Aboard EAB too

Hope you enjoy your stay

If that's how long it takes to render new versions in different colours, I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of requests

Thanks

I've been here before but apparently something changed and my login 'vanished'. It was quite a while ago so I'm not surprised.

Someone asked how the image was made. It was originally made in Lightwave 8 but now we're up to version 11 and things have become much better. Now all the cubes are instances with a random offset on the Y-axis. Much easier to handle. I guess there's around 6-8 million polygons in there since the boxes are subdivision surfaces to get the corners very smooth.

I'm thinking about playing a bit around with the image, but if anyone have ideas please don't hesitate to write them here.

Oh... I'm very happy that this thread has brought you to this Forum. I've never seen a thread alone for just a wallpaper, so it gives you an idea of how good yours is

I would like a 1024x768 version too if that's possible. Your colors seem deeper and better

Thanks for the kind words Retrofan

I've made a 1024x768 PNG for you. It's not the exact same view but close. Let me know if it fits the bill for you.

Yep, I like the plastic look and the retro feeling it gives (70's)

How does it look the ball in red and the rest like this last? Oh... the reflection too.

Working on the red ball in the blue environment. I found some issues with raydiosity splotches where the scene is dark so I'm refining the resolution so I can get them removed. This takes a little while but afterwards it's much better and renders quicker.

@Johnim: No reason to. It's so simple that the models themselves should be doable by anyone. It's the surface/scene scettings that bear the brunt of the work.

Basically it's a subdivided sphere, and a subdivided box.

I have done this a few times myself. It's really fun to do So far I haven't done any such work recently unless we're talking the new C64 from Commodore. Which really isn't a C64 ...

Thanks Englyst. Well still you haven't made it and I'm remembering what DemonHellraiser said...

I have to say that your latest version is the one I like more.

Did you watch the video I recorded with one Demonhellraiser did under my request and that I'm using as wallpaper in my Pc using DreamScene?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spSHTL8y58c

I know I'm asking too much, but I will say what the best wallpaper (well, video-wallpaper) would be for me: The one of the video changing colors, but using your darker blue and .. around the ball the phrase "Only Amiga makes it possible" turning around the ball... Yes, I know, just a dream... but would be the best DreamScene movie ever.

Simply incredible

These are the best, red Amiga ball and a beautiful blue. The reflections in the ball make it more real.

They contacted me to make the cleaned up model with textures, surface settings from a Solidworks model. Not entirely without it's challenges though.

And yes I sold them 'rights' to use my Boing ball image on their site.

And someone asked for a woman holding the Amiga Ball in her hand... I'm rendering one with a reflective Amiga Boing Ball instead of the flat one. Here's the first test:

Is this made over a real picture or just drawn?, I find something that makes her left shoulder look rare. Perhaps it's just the uneven cut in her metallic skin there.

Everything is 3D models made in Lightwave / DAZ Studio 4 and then gathered in Lightwave, surfaced and rendered... You are right about the shoulder and yes I can easily fix it..

Also the ball is a bit too small if you look all the picture.

Spanner you need Image Studio. Read here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=56276

In the Pc you can use Ultimate Paint: http://www.ultimatepaint.com/

blue amiga ball

spanner I use ADPro i think its one of the best to convert Jpg to Iff for example the results are Amazing. (if you want I can do for you just tell me what resolution and deph you prefer and I do)

I modify the Blue Ball Image to 640x512 interlaced x16 colors and fits very nice on my A1200.

I send a Private message to Englyst to know if i can use as LOGO for my Personal Software Seal Amiten Software . waiting for response.
(Of course Put everywhere the credits about Englyst for him 3D Art).

meanwhile Englyst give me permission or not here is the result mod blue amiga ball with my idea and seal name.

Thanks Amiten, I will try AdPro. BTW it's in the File Server; Commodore Amiga/Apps/Disk
And nice "revision" here: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=51673

Edit: Do you use Rebel's Palette for 16 colors? Because AdPro didn't let me use it, it says Error During Load, Premature-End-Of-File.
