Hello once again, I used to favor games with ingame music above the rest - however, I just played some Hired Guns and noticed how the ambient sound of the game (wind, rain, thunderstorms, water flowing) makes ingame music completely unneccessary!
![]() Are there any other Amiga games which rely on ingame sounds to create atmosphere, rather than tunes? You can also write about games without ambient sound but of which you still think they don't need any music (such as the Eye of the Beholder series maybe)! So for starters: for me one of the best games with ambient sound is Hired Guns. Looking forward to your suggestions! ![]()

![]() If you have not already heard it, the best way is to play the Short Action mission Big Cheese. Use the Amiga cheat code to get invincible. Wait a few seconds for all the eggs to hatch and oh sweet melody. ![]() Ofc, it is funnier when it happens when playing with friends. Although the music is very good, Settlers also has excellent sound effects, including the ambient wind and birds chirping. Genesia is also quite good on sound effects only IIRC. Simulation games like Gunship 2000 and Advanced Destroyer Simulator play perfectly fine I find without having in-game music (engine/rotor sounds mainly for ambience). Syndicate is quite good as soon as you get into action. In other times it may be a bit boring in terms of sounds. I must admit thought I prefer the PC version which has two "ambient" music, one for calm moments and those when enemies are nearby.

Errr, no that's not really an easter egg. It will just give you the Rhal attacking sound from all channels (and continuously since you are invincible).
As I have always liked this "chaotic music" I always think of it as a melody of sort .

For those who have not the time to try by themselves

Open the video at least a second time for more harmony!

Sensible soccer
.Unreal has ingame musics but as you can also choose the in-cre-di-ble ambient sfx, i think it deserves to be in this thread. |

War Head still sends shivers down my spine check it out if you have not listened to it before sends me kinda crazy with haunting sound and combined with memories.
It does become a little musical down the line but awesome. |

Got to try Mindwalker and War Head now. I always wanted to play War Head but I just don't really know what to do in the game. Got any hints for a newcomder maybe?
