Hey RCK,

Thanks, but, personally, I'd rather keep that information than go for a 96x96 avatar.

However, if the majority of other members prefer to go with the larger avatars, then I won't have any objection to that.

Thanks for considering an alternative RCK.

I'd rather have larger avatars, as those details are all under the profile link so it would be a clean solution...

...but I guess join date is kind of useful for mods and location (when people fill it in correctly - bad boy Bloodwych ) is also useful as you can tell from what part of the world someone is from without delving into their profile.

It would have been nice to have the larger avatars for my now huge monitor and resolution, but if it's not unanimous then I'm happy just to leave it if extra scrolling is an issue for some.

Not many forums have 64x64 limits these days, so expect this request to come up again and again though!

End point is, it's your forum RCK and you get the final say on how it looks. I'd just post a sticky telling people to STOP requesting it, as it seems you are getting tired of the same request.

I must admit, from a mods/admins point of view, that information can sometimes be important as a quick reference to help against the war on spammers etc...

I'm now, sort of, in a bit of a dilemma regarding larger avatars. God damn it!!!

I'm not bothered. Doesn't take more than a few seconds to get onto the mod panel anyway and then just search the user.. What 25-30 secs max

I'll go with the flow lol

Hmm, what about 80x128(160) and only remove the 'Join Date' ?

Just my $0.02 but I would much rather we didn't lose info like join date etc. I know you can see them in the profiles but it's just a lot easier having them at a glance. It can be very useful when it comes to determing spammers, duplicate accounts and so on. Again though I'll accept whatever RCK decides on (if anything).

did`t realize there were standards for avatars

I just feel the space is wasted to the right and could be used better, but I`m happy with what ever you decide

Why not just do 128 x 128, then if people want none squared one's, then they can.

Happy avatar size increase?

For as long as I can remember we've been on 64x64. Is there any chance it could be upped please?

135x135?

p.s. please with a cherry on top?

So, 64 x 128 avatars wouldn't only cause any scrolling issues, they would make this place even more special and unique!

When will they be possible? :P

I am aware it will probably have side effects when scrolling
and
that it won't actually improve eab as a board, but I would appreciate slightly bigger avatars too. May be something like setting the max to 120x80 (90 X 90 for square ones) pixels, and pushing the size limit up to 30 - 35k.

If you're evoking vertically stretched avatars (nothing to do with the movie ahem...), 64x128 is correct as H pixels are enumerated first for resolutions AFAIK.

Increasing the size limits would be a very bad idea. In this country we pay approx. 4c per Mb and if this site becomes too data-intensive I would have to use it with images turned off all the time.

80x80 ........ That's awesome Thanks RCK, the images are much clearer and sharper. It's a bit like jumpig from standard definition to high definition

btw. I wouldn't of noticed but because I used an oversized image, It hit me in the face that something was different, so I had to go and check Had I not done so I would of cropped the avatar to 64x64 and probably would of continued with that size for another 2 years or so

Now what about increasing the signature picture size from 350x20 to something not so skinny RCK? <runs away>
