I've been looking now. It seems CDBoot (in adf) will work.
It's in the File System, Commodore_Amiga/Apps/Archive/CDBoot

Read what it says:
"With CDBoot you can play on your A1200/4000 most of the CD32 Games!"

For what I see you need a Cd drive to use it.

But it also comments something about the cd device of Worbench 3.1, that it doesn't work with it, so it installs another.
Perhaps you need another cd device.

No idea.

Yes, for A1200 with PCMCIA squirrel attachment. I dont use my squirrel since I installed slim DVD Writer in my A1200.
So I made the emu work with that. It looks for CD32 CD in drive on boot, then boots its. If no disc, then it loads workbench.

Why do simple things always get confused maybe Yogi could explain it better CDBoot has nothing to do with my post
I was refering to when i uploaded all the files of SIMCD32 before for someone and think they might have ended up on the fileserver

This thread is full of info. I still haven't read it all though:

For what you were saying in 2008 (you were having this same conversation) it's on Aminet.

...And in fact IT IS: http://aminet.net/package/docs/help/MountISO

And it seems SIMCD32 is inside of Amiga CD Developper v2.1, for sale: http://www.vesalia.de/e_developer2.htm (not at the moment in Amigakit http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...2&currency=EUR)
I have to see if I find it in other place and if it's for free.

I don't find a Power Computer CD32 emulator, but the squirrel floppy that has the CD32 emulator (for my miggy with CD rom):
http://amiga.resource.cx/install/SurfSquirrel-203.dms
Edit: Oh, I see... Fol made the same mistake in 2008:

Edit: Files deleted; they are in Fol's link.

Think this thread is getting confusing.
We are talking about only SimCD32, not a cd32 emulator.

Really it doesn't matter or I don't understand you (ejem, thread tittle "CD32 Emulator for the Amiga on floppy"). I put the link for the Squirrel CD32 emulator for me (or others) to use in my miggy with Cd rom.

Edit: This is the readme from it:
"This archive contains AmigaCD32 simulation tools. Uncompress this to a bootable floppy. Edit the s/startup-sequence to point SimCD32 to an ISOimage on your hard drive. Booting off of this floppy, simulates how your application would run when boot of the AmigaCD32."

EDIT: Oh, sorry Fol, I see my file attached is inside one of the drawers of the link you gave:

I am trying to boot Microcosm, but it keeps coming up with assign error or boots up my system partition(workbench),I wanted to see your startup sequence file to see what mistakes I have made in mine(Have you got Microcosm working ok on your Amiga)what Amiga are you using..??

Ones I have got it to work I will make a menu of games so you can just click on a game name and it will boot that startup..

(I have managed to mount microcosm on cd0: and booted it by typing "cosm" but the transfer rate is so slow and it stops while it loads the data in from the iso..is this cos i am using a CF card and it not fast enough maybe it cos I am still using FFS on my partition, haven't got round to changing it yet, what are you using FOL..?)

It could be your buffers? Whats your buffers set to.
Do addbuffers DH0:, change dh0: to your hdd device id.
It will the tell you the amount of buffers. I default mine to a silly value of around 2000 (2MB) on each partition.
Also remember addbuffers takes system memory, as I have loads of fast ram, it doesnt bother me.

Ill check MicroCosm again, and let you know. I know it ran fine on my A1200 a few years back with FFS.

OK thanks,so I just type in shell addbuffers dh0: and it will tell me what its set to,I only have 2 mb fast ram in my A1700 atm..?

Ah, that may cause a problem. As SimCD32 dumps the fast ram, you may be able to get away with it.

Yes, you do addbuffers (what ever your partition ID is), mine is DH0:
So it would be addbuffers DH0: and it will then return the value of buffers currently set in RDB of HDD.
You can then increase it manually with the addbuffers command or put it in a startup-sequence to add extra on every boot.

OK i'll try that(addbuffers DH0: 2000 for 2MB is that right) then I put it in the startup..?

Yep, just try it to start with. I dont think that will be problem though as Im using 32 buffers and it runs fine.

Heres my startup;

; This is a sample floppy startup-sequence which will boot your system into
; an envirnoment similiar to the one found on the AmigaCD32. There are six
; steps involved:
;
; 1> Run the SimCD32Env program.
; 2> Run the SimCD32 program.
; 3> Mount cd0:.
; 4> Turn off fast memory.
; 5> Assign everything over to cd0:.
; 6> execute the cd0:s/startup-sequence

.bra {
.key }
C:assign ENV: RAM:
C:SimCD32Env ; Fire up the Simulated CD32 envirnoment for SimCD32.
; Preloads libraries, sets ChipRev, and opens up a
; simulated startup animation. You could add the
; CDTV.TM keyword to boot up without AA enabled
; (to simulate booting a CDTV trademarked disk).
; This requires the presence of the simulated
; freeanim.library in the library search path.

; Point SimCD32 to your ISOimage
run >nil: <nil: C:SimCD32 ISO:Microcosm.iso

Mount cd0: FROM Devs:SimCD32_Mountlist

run >Nil: <Nil: c:NoFastMem ; The CD32 has NO fast memory.
c:Wait 1 ; Wait to let NoFastMem take effect.

assign sys: cd0: ; Assign everything over to CD0:
assign s: sys:s
;assign c: sys:c
;assign devs: sys:devs
;assign l: sys:l
;assign libs: sys:libs ADD ; The libs on this floppy contain lowlevel.library
; and nonvolatile.library. So use the ADD keyword
; so these libraries can be found, while adding
; the sys:libs to the search path.

assign t: ram:
cd cd0:
execute s:startup-sequence ; execute the ISO's startup-sequence

endcli >nil:

As you can see, I have commented out all the un needed assigns.

Got it working
I attach the files of my floppy. You only have to change in the s-s the address of your iso.

Edit: What emulator has the intro exactly like the CD32? I would like to copy it if it's possible.

You mean the kickstart animation?
If so, then WinUAE will show kickstart animation.

Thanks both for your help.

Spanner have you got it working now?

Oh, I forgot. You have to press both buttons of the mice and disable your bootable partitions.

Just a question about games. Microcosm isn't so bad, and the intro is nice. What more CD32 only games or better conversions for it should I try?

AlienBreed Tower Assault, the acting in that makes me laugh, .
Very long intro.

Its working now but the its taking about 22 seconds to read the data from the iso so the talking is getting stuck and its taking along time to load...any ideas why,my add buffers are set to 2030 thats what it says..

Watching your video first I thought you need an accelerator, but you don't.
I've just tried it with my Amitek ramboard, with 4mb and it works full speed.
I haven't made any change to the buffers or anything. In my Cf I'm using PFS3DS.

Perhaps it's your ram board, perhaps you need at least 4mb, dunno.

How does it work if you go to the early menu pressing both buttons of the mice and you disable your DH0?

Cant you tell me full machine spec and startup-sequence.
Also tell me how you set emu up. Did you use a floppy? or dump it all on your HDD and alter startup-sequence.

Can be accellerated / ram card problem. As my first A1200 setup, I originally tried this on was using CF.
CF HDD was FFS with buffers 30. I also only had 10MB's RAM.
It ran full speed.

I just ran the floppy disk you made Retrofan , the iso now boots normally which is great however it runs far to slow, I also added the "Addbuffers DH2: 2000" command in the startup-sequence but the disk access remains to slow. Not sure what I'm missing here...My HD is a Compact Flash 4 gig card (sandisk). I should also mention I was running Simon The Sorcerer.

Are you using a ramboard or accelerator?

Yes I have a Apollo 68030 with 32MB fast Although after a long wait I got to the start of the game and tried to use the save option, came up with error message, I'm guessing it couldn't work out where the CD32 save file thingy was...

By now try another iso, like Microcosm and see. I really can't tell what the problem is.
