Also - I bought a 1084S recently on Amibay and I've just taken it out of the box because my cables arrived today from Vesalia.
It's dead. Not only dead, but busted. It's been dropped and smashed up pretty badly. Very sad ![]() |

Because they do what they (need to) do, I feel completely safe buying there, more than any other place.
And the forums are some of the most helpful & friendly you'll find, anywhere. Its one of the only websites I visit daily (usually more than once...). |

Still having troubles? Give me a shout if you need some Apache related help - I manage a fair few of the university's LAMP stacks here and might be able to lend a hand.

It works fine, but I suspect it needs a new fan as it crashes the pc if the pc is left on for several weeks at a time. (I don't turn my pc's off ever) It works fine when used as a secondary PhysX card though ![]() |

I'm registered in Amibay, and I want to tell a thing:
This is post 138. I don't see any moderator telling what I read in Amibay when EAB was having a similar problem, this: " OK, it's relevant to our interests that one of our fellow Amiga sites is currently offline, but we really don't need "still down" updates from everyone who tries! As for why they're offline, there are a number of reasons I can think of, but I wouldn't care to speculate. I'm sure we'll find out once they're back online. As such, I'm closing this thread. I think its work has been done!" And they closed the thread " ".

@Retrofan: the EAB thread was derailed and nothing would come from it at that time. Most EAB moderators don't use Amibay, so no decent news for what was happened.
It's the same here: I hope people only use this thread to useful information, not to bash other people and start flaming wars.

I only tell a fact. I don't tell anything about my opinion.
Ok, I will change for if you like, but as I say, I just tell a fact. Each one is free to think about it.

Seems like the closed thread would have been a good place to report when it's back up before closing it but meh, I guess it could always be re-opened.

Don't feed the trolls..... enough said.
Can a Mod please close this thread and we'll open a new one when Amibay is back online? This thread is turning into an "Elvis is still dead" thread....

It's a fair observation...
The way I look at it, there are lots of forums on the internet. Even quite a few Amiga forums. And many different moderation methodologies... Amibay is much more of a stickler for the rules. Considering their emphasis on trading, I think this makes sense.. There are some forums that are slightly less strict. And there are some forums that appear to have virtually no moderation.. ;-) End result is that there is a place for everyone; and for many, there are several places... I appreciate a tighter run forum, so I really like EAB and Amibay, But I really enjoy some of the people on one of the other forums that is ...er.. less moderated... So I frequent there also... At times, it drives me crazy, but I accept it for what it is because I enjoy some of the people. Do I wish it was more moderated? Not sure.. I did wish that for a while.. But I think I accept it more for what it is now... Are there people who want Amibay to be less moderated.. Maybe :-) But it's part of the framework of what Amibay is, and I'm glad we have that..... All the forums moderated the same way would be kind of boring... IMHO.. desiv p.s. Amibay is still down.. ;-) :-) p.p.s. If I get a vote, can a mod leave this thread open.. I like it... ;-) |

Hmmm... It seems Amibay has even dissapeared from Google search results! Sounds a bit worrying

Sorry to 'feed the trolls' thats not my intention at all.
I'd just like to say that this thread is just evolving into a discussion, like all conversations do when you're waiting for something, people are engaged in the discussion and it will pass the time until that 'Amibay is back' message comes. I'm happy whether this stays or goes but it would be nice to leave it open IMO provided we can stay away from arguing. ![]() |
