Lemmings with CD Audio

hello,

does anyone know if there was a version of Lemmings released for CD32 or CDTV that has CDDA music instead of the normal amiga music?

as a CD music version was released for MS-DOS and PC-Engine around the time

thanks

The CDTV game has no CDDA music and the CD32 is probably a repacked CDTV version.

thanks for your reply

completely pointless versions then aren't they, the whole point to re-release a game on the CD-TV or CD-32 is to improve it, not just put the plain A500 version on a CD, they should've put more effort into the releases, this was one of the sad reasons for the CD-32 being a great big flop

In the case of lemmings, it was more an easy way to let owners play the game on a cd system without buying a floppy addon. The game was good enough as is and didnt really need updating at all. The iconic music of the Amiga version is still the best of all versions released at that time. A couple of nice remixes in the psp game, but thats all, just a couple.

Lemmings is perhaps one of very few games on cd that can be excused for being a lazy port

What!? There's loads of games on CDTV and CD32 that are lazy ports!

I have the numbers somewhere, it's something like 19 ocs straight ports, 12 aga straight ports on CD32, I think CDTV was around 7-8 straight ocs ports.

Percentage wise: (just game titles)
CD32 31/162 = 19%
CDTV 7 / 50 = 12%

And that's just the straight ports, you of included the ones with a pointless fmv intro it would probably double!

I didnt mean there was just a few lazy ports, I ment Lemmings is one game a long with maybe a couple of others that was ok as is and didnt need jazzing up. Its one lazy port thats easy to live with.

Its the Lazy ports from developers like Core design that put more effort into there MegaCD titles and the Amiga versions was just the Floppy version on a cd. They are the real lazy ports.

I think any straight port is lazy, regardless what a company is doing elsewhere, esp as Psygnosis just used the CDTV version and reprinted the discs, the CD32 versions still had the CDTV logo on the disc! And they cheekily charged £29.99 for it...a 3 year old game....I'm not saying its not worth it because it is, it's one of my favourite games of all time, but they could have easily put oh no and the Xmas ones on the same disc...this was double lazy
If its a straight A1200 port of a game that's released at the same time then I have no problem, but like some companies did A500 ports should have been £9.99 tops unless in a bundle.
Tbf to Core, their straight ocs ports were on their 'Corkers' budget label, and a couple of their other games had cartoon intros, but yeah they did support the Megacd better, but perhaps the worldwide sales reflected that, of course they would have done more on the CD32 had C; not gone tits up..
