A1200 themes
Is there a way to install themes on Amiga 1200 (or a way to modify buttons, colors, etc...) How to create a menu like MacOS X http://www.ppa.pl/images/graffiti/wa...c778dac239.png ? I was trying MUI but no success (unable to register, no key! http://www.sasg.com/ ).
Thanks, Art |

If you want more control over the look of Workbench you should install VisualPrefs and FullPalette, and hopefully someone can help you out with a MUI keyfile because it's really nice being able to configure MUI too.
A friend of mine is working on a theme manager program for Workbench which lets you make new themes based on your current presets and save them, and you'll also be able to download and install new themes to choose from (which I'll make a few of to try at first). Hopefully she finishes it soon, but she's still teaching herself to program and is to afraid to post on forums anymore. I've seen it running and it works, it just needs some bugs ironed out. Until then you should still install these programs: http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/VisualPrefs http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/FullPalette22 |

Great that you talk about CWBAdvSp. How do you put a background in the windows?

In the Scalos prefs you can assign background patterns and choose which ones are used for the Workbench and the Windows.
That also reminds me that if you're using Scalos (which is what ClassicWB uses) then you don't need to use FullPalette because you can lock the palette in Scalos. Another essential program I forgot to mention which is used for theming your Workbench is Birdie, which adds bitmaps to the window frames and can also remove the grey boxes from around icons without requiring another patch like NewIcons. http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/birdie2000 You can see how the combination of VisualPrefs and Birdie looks on my 16-colour Workbench http://www.amiga.org/gallery/images/..._CamiraOrg.png I'm working on a few different themes, this is the SilverBlue one based loosely on an AmigaOS4 theme. |

Edit: Ok, ok. You have to move where it says "1", that is for Workbench, to the right (it doesn't seem you can move the number) till it shows "3", for the windows. Another thing about CWBAdvSp that everybody should know is that you hide or show the Scalos window just pressing Amiga-Amiga-B.

There have been a few attempts at creating a theme manager program for Visualprefs, Birdie e.t.c. The most complete was probably AmiChameleon, the website can still be found on Archive.org:
http://web.archive.org/web/200502050...eon/index.html The downloads no longer work, but I have put my copy of the main archive in the zone - one image is corrupt but it should still work. If there is any interest I will dig out some of the themes for it and put them in the zone too... |
