Need help finding a few games

I'm finishing to put together my romset and there are a few games that I can't find anywhere, I know some were uploaded to the zone in the past judging from past posts, but can't find them there now. All games on the list have screenshots on HOL so I have hope there are disk dumps available. I have them organized by genres as in HOL. Any help in finding these would be greatly appreciated. It's a rather large list, but I'm trying to get a complete as possible list of games, and this is pretty much what I'm missing now.

AMRVoxel never got past the "technology-demo" stage, but that's available here:
http://www.blackfiveservices.co.uk/amrvoxel.shtml
I came across the source for this (and some other old projects) recently, so I'll release that at some point in case anyone finds it interesting.

Thanks for the help guys, getting closer. Updated my list above also managed to find a few others meanwhile.

s2325 : Do you know if there's a standalone release of Don Manolo? Because I can't manage to make that disk autoboot into Don Manolo.

mai : It's been a few years since I last used an anti-virus for the amiga, not even sure which one I should use. Does any of the classicWB setups have an anti-virus installed? Or maybe a good soul could help me out here
About D.U.N.E., do you have it? If so could you please upload it into the zone? Would be a bit silly for me to download a pack with almost 2GB for a single game.

No, I found these games only on compilations. They should be single file.

Talmino 2 is on 'Talmino 2 and Skat V.2.0 (1998)(Logistic Dreams).adf' in 'Commodore_Amiga/Game/Disk' on the file server. There should be a few more in that folder, will have a look and post the results when I find some more.

Backgammon (Kingsize) -> Commodore_Amiga/Game/Disk/Amiga_Games_Disk_Library_Vol1/K

You even dont need AV-Software, its a BB virus, just type in "install df0:" in command line interpretor.

Thanks again, you've been a great help list is getting shorter . I actually found some of those yesterday like the Fun School Specials (they aren't called Fun School on TOSEC that's why I wasn't finding them) and also managed to find Talmino 2 on EAB Server the others I didn't have yet. Will test everything and update my list later today.

s2325 : Yeah, it's strange, but if I run it directly from startup-sequence the text on the main menu disappears. I need to have a better look at this and see if I can fix it.

TCD : Thanks appreciate it, finding stuff on EAB server can be challenging I'll go through that folder myself as well.

mai : Thanks for the tip, I'll try that. I'm always very cautious when it comes to virus, makes sense that installing a new bootblock will clear that virus didn't know that would be all it takes.

You're welcome

With FileZilla you can search on the FTP server btw.

TCD : I know, but it's kinda slow would be nice if there was a full text list with the whole ftp contents though would make search much faster.
Btw do you know if the SPS dump of Takado was ever released? http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43899

mai : That DUNE disk you uploaded has crc errors so the game isn't playable :/ I suppose you don't know any other dump of it?
About the virus, I tried your suggestion and even though it removed the virus the game doesn't boot, after the title screen it hangs on a black screen forever. Same thing on Mindbreaker.

Found a few more games and updated the list on the first post.

I cant see any checksum error, for me the disk seems to be ok.

Works even with virus on disk.

Thanks jujasi, will try those tonight. The Amazed adf you upload seems to be the one with the virus though.

mai : Did you try running DUNE? I get a checksum error when trying to start the game.
About Amazed, yeah probably does, but I don't really like having stuff with virus around so would prefer to get a clean copy of it. After virus removal it doesn't work though, unless the game needs a very specific config to run.

plugh83 : I tested chessmate and it seemed to work with and without the extras disk on df1. But the game always crashes when I perform a castling move. Do you know if the game requires the extras disk of a specific WB version? I'm asking because I noticed that on the startup-sequence script the volume for the extras is refered as extras: while my WB3.1 extras disk is called Extras3.1:, I renamed it to Extras: but got me wondering that it might be expecting some other version.

That's strange. The first time I loaded chessmate it requested the extras disk so since then I just assumed it always needed it. I used extras 1.2. However on loading chessmate again just now it works OK without the extras disk. I haven't had any problems when castling but any attempt to enter an illegal move causes it to crash. I've also put the German version of chessmate (Grossmeister) in The Zone. This doesn't crash (on my system at least) but does need a code word to start.

jujasi : Unfortunately amazed and mindbreaker are the same versions with virus and mind force is the pre-release version and not the final one. I'll keep on searching then, thanks.

plugh83 : Maybe it only requires it for the first time and some info is written on the actual disk? That would explain it. Thanks for Grossmeister I grabbed that one as well.

Edited first post.

At least i got it working using WinUAE config:
Quote:
1.2ROM, OCS Agnus, 512kb Chip RAM + 512kb Slow RAM

BTW. Where are the many replys to the requested games in my thread?

wow thanks a lot Amiganiac73, I see I have quite a few games to try tonight
I'll let you know if I find anything else from your list as well.

mai : That's weird, maybe I'm doing some stupid mistake. Are you running the editor or the DUNE executable file? The editor seems to run fine, it's when running DUNE that I get the crc error. You need to run it from WB right? Are you mounting the dms image as a floppy or are you uncompressing it to disk?

Thanks I'll try that config for Amazed, but I believe I used it already.
I guess your thread doesn't have replies because those are games are pretty damn hard to find , your best bet is probably for someone in Germany to have those and dump them for you, I tried searching for all of them and no luck.

Thanks! Where have you been digging these up? Very impressive.
I still didn't have time to test all the others, really busy week... can't wait for the weekend to finally sit down and try all these

Btw any chance you could upload All Guns Blazing, Cyadonia and Kid's Academy - Alvin's? Just noticed you managed to find those.

Updated my list above. Amiganiac73 thanks again for the help, couldn't get a couple of the games running though (Mace and Conversations with a computer) while a couple of others weren't the correct versions, but it helped a lot

Many of the remaining missing games are on the Amiga Spielesammlung Band 2 compilation, if only I could find it.

mai, no luck on getting Amazed to work with that same config or any others I tried. Even tested the adf with virus and same exact problem. After the title screen I hear the music and doesn't go past it

Thanks, Conversation with a computer works fine now

Mace on the other hand seems to bit hit or miss, I've tried those exact settings and on about 10 attempts the game started only twice. On the others it always crashed after pressing the mouse button on the title screen. Does the actual game start fine everytime for you?

Updated my list to remove a couple of titles found, also added 2 licenceware games I can't find anywhere (Bouncer from 5th dimension and Greenies).

One thing i noticed with winuae is that you need to unprotect the disk so the game can be played.
If the file is zipped winuae manage the unzipped file in to a directory called SaveImages
Saveimages keep track of all the changes you do to game when saving.
So the zipped file don't suffer any changes.

Would be a good thing you check the Saveimages directory inside winae directory and delete the mace.adf image with a size of 2,104,892

Also Dependig on your version of Winuae the function "blitter_cycle_exact= " in the newer versions change to "cycle_exact= " true or false

Remeber in Gamebase GEMUS manage any command you type in to each game "key=value" pairs, so all commands most be registered
in to the main GEMUS command list.

You can change the command in your Gamebase Amiga GEMUS
for Winuae 2.3.3 and up by pressing Shift+F1

Look for

"Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\GameBase Amiga.uae||blitter_cycle_exact||%blitter_cycle_exact_value%)"

change to

"Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\GameBase Amiga.uae||cycle_exact||%cycle_exact_value%)"

without quotes

save changes pressing OK button

Look for Mace in the gamebase mainlist
Then pressing F2 change your "key=value" pairs

Look for
blitter_cycle_exact="value"

change to

cycle_exact="value"

in this case use cycle_exact=true

hope it works for you.

I don't use Gamebase, like you say it's configs are based on an older WinUAE also they tend to not use cycle exact on most configs. I'm actually working on a complete new setup for Hyperspin.
I always use cycle exact set to true, changed it in this one to false in order to match your config above. I'm also running the game from an unzipped adf. What I find weird is that with the same exact config the game only loads sometimes. Does it load every single time for you? Might be a good game to ask Toni to have a look at, something fishy going on with it.

yes it does , every time i do start the game and it pass the intro screen, let me play.
Actually I am using winuae 2.3.3

I believe the key to make it work is the RAM configuration.
It's kind of crazy config but it works every time

This is my config:
-------------------
Memory Sttings:
Chip=1MB
Fast=2MB
Slow=512K
Advanced Memory settings all to none
------------------
Chipset settings:
Chipset=OCS
Chipset Extra = Generic
Collision Level= Full
------------------------
Blitter Options:
Cycle-exact
------------------------
KCKSTART= KS1.3 Rev 34.5(256k)

Tested those settings and same issue, this is the error I get most of the times:

How are you getting past the intro screen btw? I'm suspecting might be a bug related to it, after clicking on it one time the music starts playing and a text message shows up on the top saying "close here after clicking below" and I click there. Usually after waiting a bit I get the error message above followed by a guru meditation error (Illegal Instruction). It usually starts on the next try after the guru reboot.
Also any chance you could attach your config file so I can test with yours?

Thanks, but still no luck I have the exact same problem.
I still think this has to do with how you close the intro screen, do you wait for the music to start? Press the left or right mouse button? My last attempt, and then I'll probably just forget this one

I press the right mouse button any place on the screen then press the left mouse button in the top left side of the screen and the intro fades out along with the music.

I guess your copy of Mace is broken or modified, i will upload the version that works for me and see if works for you.

This time try loading the game with disk protected.

Dont forget to use the memory configuration:

Chip=1MB
Fast=2MB
Slow=512K

Hope that works

I got my other copy from you already
The crc of both files match so it hasn't been modified. No luck, still the same problem, oh well I give up. Thanks for the help, don't really know what's going on. It's really weird I even tried on 2.3.3 since that was your version and nothing
