Thanks. Checked, good quality .

On page 22, on the left side, it seems like the feet are cut. Is it normal or was the scan a bit off-center?

Seems like there was rust developping around the staples (obviously). Good idea to have scanned it now just in case.

TCD (or anyone else): Should I try to cut/remove the rust spots (see page 15 for instance) before uploading to HOL or is it good enough as it is (+ gives an authentic look )?

Personally I'd remove the rust spots as long as the pages are still readable. It's a PDF afterall (so much for the authentic bit ).

Page 22 is scanned as-is in the original, feet were cut in the original paper form as well. Also some pages look a bit rotated - it was also in the original, I scanned it correctly.

Happy

Yes, tell that lazy lilalurl to get to work... oh wait that's me .

Sorry, removing the rusty parts was quickly done, but getting the PDF to a decent size without sacrificing quality was a difficult trade-off, so I dithered a bit too much .

Now it is at 7.35 Mb (for originally 35 Mb in 28 files) and still seems quite readable I think when zooming in.

It is up now, so if you have a few seconds, feel free to check and tell me if you are satisfied with the quality/size (if not, it can be changed):

Well, you are the one who put the most work into that when doing the scans, so you can thank yourself before all

I have a question: does the HOL need also alternative manuals? For example, I have scanned Parasol Stars (Hit Squad budget version) manual. It has 6 pages in total, tells nothing new compared to manual that is already in HOL, but the appearance is completelly different (printed white on black, different layout, one language only etc). Should I contribute with this, or it would be redundant?

Also - I would like to contribute with complete manuals sorted in PDF, but my legal and registered Adobe Acrobat 8 is unable to complete the task from some unknown reasons So I have to upload only separate page scans.

We welcome all manuals, whether they be original or budget release manuals. Some of the budget manuals are exactly the same as the original release ones, but may be printed on less pages or have a different layout (which is sometimes better).

No problems - just scan to 300dpi in jpeg & save with 15% compression (as per HOL guidelines), and then up them to the ftp site in your own folder (so lilalurl knows where to look to process them! ). Many thanks in advance!

Thanks for the lot of stuff. I will be moving this month so I may forget to take care of everything.

I'll update this post with everything I have taken care in case someone else want to put the remainder online.

Edit: Online:
- password book
- disk scan
- box scan
- warranty card
- Konami booklet
- quickstart

Only the manual is left, but I will have to split the pages, otherwise it looks pretty dirty when displayed in a PDF file, so it may take a while longer.

No worries. Forgot to mention it's in the HOL FTP already
Just scouting to see what I can find next, it's difficult sometimes.

Keep scouting

Btw, while reviewing some of the scans, I noticed that on S2 U.S. Manual Page-24-25.jpg, page 25 had a sort of diagonal folding.

You can see that for instance in the horizontal line that is crossing a triangle at the top of the page. At one point, it falls a bit lower.
Similarly, you can see the same issue repeated at the same vertical level for the words.

I believe this is probably a printing issue, in which case anyone with the same manual would have the same issue. Can you confirm that?

In case it is your copy that has a specific issue (manual page folded a bit by mistake), it would be nice to know so that whoever would have the manual could scan a correct page one day.

Page 26 shows the same issue but to a slightly lower level (I would have not noticed probably if it was not obvious with page 25). If it was an issue of a page mistakenly folded, I guess the effect would be the same for 25 and 26, so I tend to think it would be a printing issue. However I cannot be 100% sure.

Don't know why that did that, maybe it's my scanner settings. I've re-scanned and re-uploaded the relavent pages
The folder is called "Rescanned" within the S2 U.S. folder.

Thanks for the quick rescan

Meanwhile, I just discovered by reading a bit that the multiplier ramp has an impact on the electrified ball (when it turns red). Picture of the relevant text until the manual is uploaded.

Have to say in all the years I've played it I never knew that either. For some reason the UK manual doesn't explain it as simply as this.

Finally I scanned another manual ... hooray

... and in addition I'm uploading it right now to the FTP server. By the way it's the very nice Sensible Golf instruction manual, which contains English, French, German and (!) Italian language. Have fun.

Thanks for the contribution.
Online.

Something a bit strange I noticed is that on your version of the cover, the "line" on the left of the page is a bit different (bends differently and looks less filled) from the one featured on the cover we already had (first picture in miscshot):
http://hol.abime.net/1865/miscshot

Not important anyway

I guess you mean the red marked line:

To be honest the reason of it is a "bad" scan. Because of the bright paper of the manual frontpage it reflects where the bend is.

I didn't noticed it first. I'm now thinking that it doesn't look that nice and so I rescanned the page. The new page is on the FTP server now. Take a look, maybe you want to exchange the first page for the HOL manual. For sure it isn't that important

Hi,

they are great as always, but I'd like to add at least the main screenshot to each entry if possible. I'll start to add the entries now and hope we can add the screenshots soon

Edit: It's also hard to guess the category, number of players and so on just by looking at the Polish manual Images of those disks would be really great

Hi guys,
I've uploaded some new scans to HOL ftp server. I have more to scan but not had a lot of free time to do this, I add these asap. What about my previous scans? If they lost in action? If needed I can upload them again, so let me know. Bye
