Amiga MIDI sequencer: MIGNON PS

Hey guys,

I am looking for this old MIDI sequencer called MIGNON. I need the PS version, MIGNON PS. No other version has the option to use it as a sampler so I need this version.

Anybody has it?

Thanks!

I keep talking to myself, seems nobody can help me

Some more info which I posted in a.org (yes, I am desperate :P):

I found a review of it in an article about MIDI sequencing in the german Amiga mag AMIGA SPECIAL, 12/97-1/98 edition, Page 54. So it's from kind of that era.

Software company that made it or published it is called SEK'D. Data:

Sek'D
Studio für elektronische Klangerzeugung Dresden
Schmalwiesenstr. 21
D-01219 Dresden

I need the PS version because it has a special SAMPLER function. (Ab version 3.0). Mignon Junior or Mignon SMPTE are no good for my needs.

If you need a scan of this article, I can do it tomorrow.

It's part of the music university in Dresden : http://www.hfmdd.de/hochschule/insti...e-des-studios/
Use 'Kontakt' to write them an email. Good luck.

According to the Samplitude Opus docs SEK'D gave up on writing software for the Amiga market in 96. Plus AQ-05 was dated 94. So I think you should be looking more at the early 90's... Unless someone else took it over like ACT did with Samplitude? But then I think it would be less rare...

Been looking at their site on arc.org but only managed to find one mention of MIGNON-SMPTE bundled with Samplitude:
http://web.archive.org/web/200004120.../Sam_amiga.htm

Sorry, know this post is not of much help, hopefully the contact info TheCyberDruid gave will prove more useful...

What is special about MIGNON? What advantages does it hold over OctaMED or other related software?

I'm not looking for any MIGNON, I need the PS version (Ab Version 3.0) because it has a sampler module that takes input from any MIDI source and this is what I want to use. I don't want to use this software as a sequencer.

Octamed is a tracker, therefore, a totally different type of app.

Awesome!!! thanks viddi.
Xdelusion: I said sampler module, not module sampler. The sampler module makes Mignon act like a sampler, receiving control from an external MIDI source.

just had a quick look at AQ-05 and it's a demo version, hope you find it, don't suppose it's hiding away on any old telnet BBS sites? or possibly e-mule or similar??

Grasping at straws I know.

good luck!

Which version is it? I haven't found any, so please share it because it'd be good to have it in the net.

I don't think I can help you much here, but you have peaked my interest.. Is the sampler ability similar to how it is in "milky tracker" where you can map a different sample to each key of the midi keyboard?

Sorry for the delay.

The Mignon disk is EMPTY.
It wasn´t an original copy, though.
Maybe my brother knows more about it (it was part of his old Amiga stuff).

I do have an original copy of Samplitude (CD edition).
It may contain Mignon.
But this disk isn´t readable. Again
I tried several cd drives (Amiga and PC) and the surface looks okay, too.

Any ideas?

You can play samples via MIDI with Bars & Pipes and the Amigophone tool. However, they need to be IFF multi-octave samples (can be create with AudioMaster IV).

Bars & Pipes proved to be a mindfuck for teh simple use I wanted to give it. Believe me I tried to use it. I printed the manual at all. It also guru'd on my Amiga frequently and that's when I threw it to shit. Sorry, I know you love and use it a lot, but it's just not the tool for me! I need a very simple sample player that can be remoted through MIDI.

Steohen: I'l check out that auction, thanks!

I can't remember it's name, but I seem to recall an amiga based sample player that used the amiga like a tone module through midi. It sounds like the sort of thing you are after, if you can't find mignon.

I think it might have been shareware though. *to the aminet*

http://aminet.net/package/mus/midi/midiIn

also, when looking on aminet, noticed something else

http://aminet.net/package/mus/midi/ProjectMIDI

I haven't tried either of these programs so I don't know how useful they are to youse or anyone else, but they may be of help to someone that just wants to use a spare amiga as a midi "instrument". Similarly, if folk haven't already heard of it a combination of midi-ox and midi-yoke can do the same with a spare windows pc running vst's or whatever.

Hopefully this helps somebody

I tried those two and are horrible pieces of software. Lock up the Amiga randomly, can't take any proper fast MIDI signal...en fin, this is why I look for options The idea behind those two is exactly what I need but the execution is beyond poor.

Of course I have sampler software for the PC/Mac, but that's not the point.

Thanks for trying to help though!
