I have only tried Baldur's Gate 1 so far. The wide screen patch only works with the installed expansion "Tales of the Sword Coast" and the latest patch v1.3.5521 (at least for me).

or maybe this patch.

BG1Tutu is cool since you can play BG1 in BG2's engine. http://www.pocketplane.net/tutu

gemRB is a nice project, too. http://www.gemrb.org/wiki/doku.php?id=start

Thankyou Gilgamesh. Looking into these now.
I ended up cancelling my amazon order and going to gog.com. They have a great deal on. These games look wonderful in high resolutions, just can't understand the obsession with 3d games, 2d isometric has a wonderful feel to it and rendered worlds seem timeless.

Ps - do U know if these are compatible with the giberlings widescreen high red patch?
Thank you
Pz

Widescreen mod is compatible with GemRB. BG1Tutu theoretically should be.
