I did not find full documentation, but I have a schematic and picture of board. Missing images only connections. I will open one of my floppy and do pictures. Here are pictures of floppy during and after modification: http://www.fotosik.pl/u/jarob/album/1065532 Only the Panasonic motor runs stable at 150 rpm. I also tried Samsung and Mitsumi floppy, but the motor was struggling. @Jarob
Progressing good way, but you got the error. Incorrect generates RDY 880KB. Your logic, it can damage data when writing to disk. RDY must start when the Index - Falling Edge |

I'm not saying there are no errors. I just have not seen them. Write DD 100% good. I've never had this problem.

Panasonic/Pabasonic must be the better drives to use with Amiga. I still have Jope's modified drive in use and working great!

The AAP156 diode is a germans diode. It has a smaller voltage drop junction than the silicon diode and it is all.

Germanium diode forward voltage drop is approximately 0.3V.

Plate with 2 image is universal. I did try the Samsung and Mitsumi floppy. Please install these components, which are in the diagram, for a 1 picture. This can be seen also on photos in album with modifications made.

Anyone know if you can modify two drives and put them in an A2000?
What if you want to use the external connector? I've seen a few posts about diodes.... |

I got bored...
YE Data YD-702D-6037DA 3.5" drive - replaced DF1 Chinon in A2000 with this. It had jumpers (!?) for DS0/DS1, so I made it DS1, and changed from DC to RDY (there was also a jumper for this.) I then jumpered pin #2 to DC on the bottom of the drive. Mitsumi D359T5 3.5" drive - replace DF0 Chinon in A2000 with this. I removed the bridge from DS1 and made it DS0. I also removed the jumper from DC and change it to RDY. I then jumpered pin #2 to DC on the bottom of the drive. Bottom line: I ran the Odyssey mega demo with the two internal drives (and an external Amiga DF2) and it all seemed to work fine. I'm going to try to format some drives now. I have some more spares laying around, mostly Teac FD-235HF's, so I will try those and see how they work as well. |

Someone in this thread attempted to modify one: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=9934&page=2 http://www.kipper2k.com/amiga/teac.jpg Going from DS0 to DS1 was easy. I noticed that they did hook pin #2 up to DC (directly on the IC). But, they needed to unhook pin #34 (which was also hooked to DC), so they cut that trace going to pin #34 (the jumper usually does this.) However, the last piece of the puzzle - jumping RDY - I think they tried doing this by hooking up pin #34 to pin #30. This won't let the Amiga use an external drive. If you notice the picture, it looks like the other set of jumpers (R16) next to DS0/DS1 was for RDY - I simply moved the 000 ohm resistor from the right to the left (parallel) in R16. Didn't do the pin #34 to pin #30 thing. Hooked up the drive, booted it, and it apparently did the trick. I booted up and it saw DF0 inside the A2000 and DF2 on the external bus. (Saw both floppies too, good old NewTek Demo Reel 1). Not sure if this is 100% electronically correct, but it worked. |

I have a recycler looking for drives for me with the RDY/DC pins either on the back of the drive or that have the jumpers labeled at the bottom. This recycler has quite a stock of stuff, so I hope they find some stuff
