Thanks! I will try this evening in the same conditions as before... Unfortunately
![]() - When using uaenet.device (with proper option in WinUAE), I can ping Google or its IP but IBrowse reports that its connection timed-out on Google URL. - When using a2065.device, I cannot use the DNS but can ping Google IP but IBrowse reports that its connection timed-out on Google IP. I also attach the logs as usual... And will try the "bare" LAN card as soon as possible... I also check Mad-Matt's settings but could not find anything that would explain why the network does not work for me ![]() Any idea? Thanks in advance! Yann PS. Just to make sure, I checked my router MAC address as you asked, Toni, and found out that it is 48:5B:39:42:60:76! Not 08.06.00.01.08.00... maybe I am missing something here? ![]() Last edited by tygre; 30 March 2011 at 03:29. Reason: Added more information |

Could you try with only WinUAE PC and router connected? (all other PCs/whatever disconnected)
Your log contains at least 4 different MAC addresses that makes it quite difficult to follow. |

Hi Toni!
Please find in attachment the logs of WinUAE (the one that you sent me, Public Beta, 2011-03-29). I deconnected all my computers (including the wireless ones) and connected the host PC directly to the router. (Windows could access the Internet just fine.) Unfortunately ![]() - When using BSDSocket, I can access the Internet, no problem, e.g., www.google.ca. - When using uaenet.device, I can ping www.google.ca but IBrowse reports a time out when accessing this page. - When using A2065 Z2, I have no DNS, can ping the IP of Google; IBrowse reports a time out. I am very puzzled: wht am I doing wrong? ![]() Thanks in advance for your help! Yann PS. I am running WinUAE as "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinUAE\winuae.exe" -netlog -a2065_promiscuous -a2065log2 |

Redownload winuae.zip (same url), do the same A2065 test using same parameters and include winuaelog.txt. (now log also includes packet content) I think the only way to solve this is to have second machine on network running wireshark to see if packets that WinUAE transmit actually appear on the wire (or air) and if your router receives them and sends correct replies (and WinUAE machine for some reason drops them) Do you have any firewall software installed? They usually break winpcap strangely. (="real" virtual NIC driver would be so much better solution but it isn't that easy) |

Hi Toni!
Sure, I will try over the week-end: one thing that I haven't done yet is to try with wire and without all these Windows stuff running atop the TCP/IP stack (including firewall and antivirus). I will try and post the logs. Thank you for your help and patience ![]() Yann |

Dear Toni and Mad-Matt!
I hope that you are doing good! I am very happy to tell you that I managed to access the Internet from WinUAE, using Miami and both the A2065 Z2 and uaenet devices ![]() I followed your advices and disabled all my computers, connected my host PC to the router with a wire, disabled all firewalls/anti-virus and all services on the TCP/IP stack of the card... and it worked! ![]() ![]() So, to make WinUAE works with Avast!, you must select the option "Internet Connection Sharing mode" in Avast! (go to "Firewall Settings", then click "Expert Settings", then select "Internet Connection Sharing mode"). The interesting (?) thing is that the option, according to Avast!, "should be checked only if the Windows ICS mode is also turned on. As your computer will be acting as a gateway between the Internet and other computers with their own security settings, certain ports which would normally be closed, would have to be opened. As a result, the level of security is slightly reduced if this box is checked." But, the ICS mode of my wireless card is NOT checked ![]() Thank you for your help, advices, and patience! Take care! Yann ![]() PS. I am using Avast! Antivirus 6.0 and WinUAE Public Beta 3, 2011.03.29. |
