UAE4Droid Amiga emulator for Android released

Old new this but did a search and found nothing about it:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604529

UAE4Droid is a port of UAE4ALL to Android. I have been playing with it for a few hours and it works quite well for a dirty port.

I have played SWOS on it (tricky with onscreen joystick!), Indianapolis 500 and Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge.

I think games like Indy Heat will be best (little screen move, small sprites, simple sounds). Ill give it a go soon.

Tried Indy Heat but I have a 'special' version that needs both left and right mouse buttons to be pressed at boot up... don't think RMB is mapped to anything.

Which Android phone do you have? I've been considering getting one but justifying the phenomenal (£400) cost is hard.

I have a HTC Magic running Cyanogen's ROM. Much speedier than stock, allows for apps to be installed to the SD, swap partition and other tweaks. Can be bought from e-tailors for around £250ish SIM free last time I looked.

Android FTW!

Alexh - mine was 'free' as part of an 18-month contract, £25 per month with T-Mobile incl. 'unlimited' data.

UAE4Droid should run very well on any 1GHz Snapdragon based Android phone I expect. Twice the CPU power of my phone and stuff runs quite well on that as it is.

Pretty neat but pricey. I'd rather have my PSP with a custom firmware than this. Android games are pretty poor, especially compared to PSP games.

Double what I'm currently paying. £12 / month with O2 gets me 300 texts per month, unlimited mobile broadband and unlimited 24Mbit ADSL+ broadband. I'll have to think long and hard before getting a smart-phone.

Just searched the market on my phone and found one app that shows it is possible. Just need to make the next step and allow it interact with other applications.

@Tonyyeb

Can you post some pics of UAE4DROID running on the Desire. I'm getting my Desire next week and will definitely be checking this out. Can't wait to play stuff like Civilization and Theme Park on the train.

I was wondering if anyone has used UAEDroid to run any of the ultima series. I was wondering if the virtual or real keyboard would work best for the emulator. My cell phone contract is coming due, and I want to get an android phone I am currently looking at a Sony Ericson but it only has a virtual keyboard. There are others that have a real keyboard.

I wonder if I could run my old /X BBS on an HTC Desire. That would be funny - the thought of carrying my BBS around with me rather than it sitting on a large A2000 with another box with full height 5.25" HDDs attached!

Updates. pics and videos guys. I'm veering away from my iPhone to the Droid

Guys I installed the thing on my LG Link Me phone but when I run it I can't go past the very first screen (the one with change list, etc) with "configure" and "start" buttons. They both don't do nothing nor give any message about what's going on. Any clue?

Is it free? if not, we here in Norway can't get it. All we can access is free apps.
