Found a good PC freeware game

I got this game last week, and I am having lots of fun with it

The name of the game is GENERALLY , and it can be found in the gamehippo site (www.gamehippo.com) .

If you like Indy Heat, Super Off-Road or any race game of this kind, you'll LOVE that game. It has lots of different vehicles to choose from, excellent AI with many different dificult levels, different terrains, damage, fuel consumption, tyre wear, pit stops, 1-6 players can play, it zooms out when the track is too big and zooms in when the track is small, so you can have big and small tracks, and an excellent and very easy to use track editor.
If you like this kind of game, I recommend it. It's a less than 2Mb download, and much more fun than most modern games

This EAB track was the 1st one I made, and as you can see, I wasn't too good with the editor at that time

Wow that looks great. Does it support multiplayer over the net? That'd be so cool. I believe someone else posted a link to a somewhat similar game, except it was ruined by the fact that it was close up 3D.

I think it looks a good bit more like Badlands, maybe it's the fact that there doesn't seem to be height in the game whereas the Skidmarks levels at least had banked corners afaik.

Skidmarks has scrolling, so this looks to me more like Super Off Road, like Shats said

Looking at the screenshots it definitly has a Indy Heat-touch like Shatterhand already said.

I say it's a cross with Indy Heat and Super Off-Road

It has heights, it just happens that in the screenshots you can't see that properly. Today I've made a muddy track with some crazy jumps on it, it reminds me Super Off-Road. Look at the screenshot

Unfortunately, there's no net support.. you can have up to 6 players in the same machine (What about 2 on keyboard, 2 on PSX controllers in the serial input, 1 on the normal joystick and other with an USB joystick? )

And yeah, that would be a perfect game for the "Small Sprites" thread

So you mean you've downloaded it and played it? Good think you liked it.

Remebered a game that comes closer to GeneRally: Slicks 'n' Slide . If you know this shareware PC game, and like it, you will certainly like GeneRally, as it plays much in the same way, but it has many more options, and a much better AI. And it's also free

I finally got my monitor working right with resolution switches so now I can play the game. Didn't last long though. Stumbled across a freeware game called Crimson Lands. Basically a shoot everything game seen from above. Mission is currently to survirve as long as possible which gets quite hard when aliens are coming in from all sides and there's no such things as a health pack. Luckily you get perks when rising in levels, such as radioactiveness which hurts creatures too close to you and fastloader which makes you load your gun a bit faster.

The controls can be keyboard and mouse where you move around with the keyboard and aim and shoot with the mouse, or you can play it with pure keyboard and it will play a bit like Alien breed control wise.

Oh yeah an URL might be handy. http://crimsonland.10tons.org
But that seems to be down right now. I found the game at www.somethingawful.com on the news page, just scroll down. It's a 10MB download and the webmaster there has mirrored the zip file.

Good you enjoyed it

I am thinking about setting up a GeneRallty home-page, so people can submit their tracks to download and stuff like that.

@Drake1009

I've heard about Crimson Lands, but never downloaded it.. 10 mbs is a rather big download for my 56k connection.

Ok, not THAT big, but I am just too lazy

Found a working site, either the readme.txt is wrong or it's an older site.

http://koti.mbnet.fi/temper/crimsonland/

That has a download without music bringing it down to 2.6 MB
