....sigh... a GL version, compatible with 3D gfx cards *including zorro cards like the cybervision 643D etc, Then I want it optimized for the 68060, would be a dream to behold.....
but recently I got an AGA version of Quake, and I was pretty damn impressed by it! |

Quake 2 is 68k too (Warp3D only). Too slow on 040/25 though, barely 1-2 fps
Clickboom Quake is Highly optimised and runs as well as quake is going to run on Amiga in software mode. Plenty of options to play with though for any amiga config to attempt to play the game . Blitzquake I think is the most optimal of the Amiga QuakeGL ports. Runs reasoably well on 68k, but better with ppc |

This was on an 060@80mhz..........and it seemed like .5 FPS, Quakes68k was faster on the 040@25.
It's obvious clickboom optimised their quake engine for RTG. |

I think I got 8-9 FPS full screen on my old A4000 060-50 with CV64-3D.
I should really try it on my current A4000D maxed to the max with CSPPC 233 + CVPPC or on my A1200D with 060 clocked at 80MHz (yes Jens, there is something Apollo cards are good for :-) : running at 80 MHz ). |
