USB Modem for Amiga

Could anyone recommend a USB modem I can use with the Amiga? I would also like to use it with Windows and Linux, but I would think if it works on the Amiga it will also work on the others.

From Poseidon docs I can see that I need a CDC ACM (Abstract Control Model) compliant modem (i.e. no winmodem!). Linux also has a driver for such modems.

Problem is virtually all modems advertised never state whether they are a winmodem nor whether they are compatible with CDC ACM.

Why a modem? Surely you would rather use a network USB adapter?

Yes, *I know* I can use alternatives such as usb-ethernet (which can't do faxes though nor actually dial up a phone number so not useful) and usb-serial-serial modem, but I want a usb modem. It is handier as with a laptop (mine has no modem) it also requires no separate power supply compared with a serial modem. Yes, maybe I don't actually *need* one, but it will be useful in some cases for me.

There are plenty of usb modems, but the catch is i want it to work with amiga and linux, and bonus if it has some snazzy status lights.
