Hello,

Recently, we here at Activision Customer Support have implemented new web-based support software to better assist our customers. In order to receive further assistance with your problem, you must login to our support website at http://www.activision.com/support
but I'm sure to whoever gets the letter can't give permission or not..... I need a direct email address to someone in charge .. me thinks.

No idea if it would work, but perhaps someone in the SCUMMVM forums can forward your request. I suppose if there are some people around that are in touch with Lucasarts they are there.

Hmmm.... I'm in a similar situation, sort of... I program games... and got several I would like to do... like the Monkey Island - Bar game (will be totally awesome).... but lack the motivation as I gain nothing on making it... as I need to spend ALOT of time ripping, coding, putting it all together. As it's not my graphics, nor sound and music, it's illegal to charge anything.... I've heard I can't even have banners on the page, if the game on that page has borrowed stuff... not even a donations button ...

What would you people's thoughts be on this? Could it be ok to have a donations button and maybe banners on a page with games I've created using other peoples gfx and sfx?.... I mean, I do not CHARGE anyone for playing, it's free ofc, but I only hope to get some "appriciation" sent my way .
OMG !! I totally read your post wrong Ironclaw.

Im so sorry !!
I can see your problem ...the only real way out is a total remake using your own gfx etc. Then i see no reason why you cant do what you would like to do. Unless you get the permission of course in which case the project would be great !! Good Luck

Just out of interest check out how this site deals with its donations....Could you not do the same sort of thing ?? I would happily make a site for you !!

Nice work synchro. Like your website. Do you have a template for it? I am looking to do a website for my misses to show her artwork and I like the idea you have on your site.

Contacted Activision like TCD suggested, they replied and said they don't hold the copyright, lucasarts do.

So I looked at lucasarts page and could only send them emails regarding trouble with their games.... so I did anyway .. they replied that I need to mail them the letter.

So, seems like only way to reach LucasArts is to send them a normal letter to:

Can't be arsed...... I still have the option of SCUMMVM forums, or even the ones over at World of MI.. maybe I'll take this matter up in those forums... if I can be arsed :P.....

Lots of hard work for a love job IC.

@ synchro - we all get emotional about Miggy, just get angry at someone who deserves it, like anyone who owns an Atari..

BTW just downloaded and ran - fantastic piece of programming here, just what the doctor ordered! My dl contained 2 KS ROMS however, is that 100% right?

Indeed contains KS roms... Shouldn't be too hard to make a new installer without them

I just don't see how people can take donations for this sort of endeavour. Distributing most of this software and getting money for that, no matter how, goes against their licenses.

basically, I don't care how much work you spent putting together whatever, the emulators specify that they cannot be distributed as long as money is involved somehow in the transaction.

I bet a lot of the PD stuff bundled in AmigaSYS is the same.

Can you people come clean?
