This is why a simple free hosting blog paid for with cheesy ads can be more impressive, simply by the dev posting progress now and then! Is the project on some mailing list I could follow? |

@skan
Knock it off about the Kickstart. Somebody gave him a specialized tool to disassemble the Kickstart and it took him less than an hour to use it. (Although that would count as Frederic Requin doing the disassembling in my opinion.) |

its a bit strange, what happens at the natami board. the only one, moderating the website is gone (sort of busy with job?!). last info was, they were waiting for the first PCBs to arrive. how long does it take to get the boards finaly?
and what really bugs me - no media at all. some 5 years (!?) old blurry pictures: just to compare, have a look here: http://www.experiment-s.de/en/pictur...sh/suska-board http://www.experiment-s.de/en/pictur...i-custom-chips download section has vhdl sources and doumentation (dont miss the 68000 which got 020/MMU capabilities - IIRC). http://download.experiment-s.de/Susk...2K8A/rtl/vhdl/ is there nothing the natami team can show? its really a bit strange ... @hit
When the Natami team got the quote for the original design of the Natami, it was too expensive so now the SuperAGA chipset design is undergoing a major revision to make the board cheap enough that people will use it. Eg. 16 Megs of SRAM replaced with 256 Megs of DDR for Chip RAM. |

yes, i know what you are talking about. but look here:
"2008-10-01 : Thomas finally finished the new Hardware-design for Natami-060 - the 1st board can now hit his lab in a couple of weeks!" two month gone and they still have nothing to report? seen the footage of the Atari-FPGA-Project, screenshots of the Customchips Prototypes and so on? seen the vids Richard Aplin made after a couple of days, and all the Tiny projects around. what do we have from the Natami Team, are some very old pictures of a prototype and some stills of a, maybe impressive, flightsim. thats all. i mean, they were opening the website and board. but i've seen nothing so far. even gunnar stated, some dozend people have seen a working prototype earlier this year. i've seen nothing. that really bugs me; i guess not only me. it seems to be a nice project and i hope they will made it. but this kind of publicity, is bogus to me :/ |

thats a weird comment. how else should an official project site ( at that dev stage ) should looks like ?
even T. Hirsch is posting on the board (3 postings or the like). "This is not a commercial project yet." - so the contact page says. but i mean, its a project, the team went into public <point>. also he is mentioned on that page. if this all has nothing to do with the natami project, what are we talking about? why do people flaming on gunnar (if its right or wrong isnt important here). so gunnar is doing a website just for the sake of it, and thats it? accidentally a project, called natami, was mentioned at the beginning and this is all what they (website - project) have in common? i doubt that. |

AFAIK, the main "official" people commenting on that website forum are Thomas Hirsch (hardware designer), P Kittel (not sure of role, co-ordinator?), and Gunnar (3d "GPU" design). Surely it is the most "official" website that exists in the absence of any other information source for the natami and given who is posting there. It is supposed to be a development project at the moment.
They also have a Jens (not individual computers) working (from memory) on the kickstart patches or something or other. But yes, they have not been very timely at giving "official" progress which will obviously lead to many people asking questions. This is inevitable given the amiga climate of the last few years, dates being set and an answer given after the date has passed as to why it is not met. |
