Ok its like this, there are about 5 or 6 different brands of HK cards RJ type but only 1 manufacture so it makes no difference, all should work if you have Amiga drivers
The radio type there is about 6 manufactures, have not tried them, cable is faster

Well, that's good enough for me!

I'll buy one & see how I go.

Of three sellers on eBay advertsing brand name cards from the compatability list, none have even had the decency to return my messages requesting a postage quote to Australia (even though they say Worldwide Shipping)

Who still makes 16-bit pcmcia network cards? Have you bought one of these yourself that definitely works in your 1200/600?

I just purchased one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....ies%26_fvi%3D1

The reason I chose this particular card:
"Compatible with both traditional PCMCIA slot and advanced 32-bit CardBus slot."

Only one way to find out!

I hope you don't fry your 1200 using that 32-bit card fingers.

rkauer already mentioned the voltages are different.

Well, I already "took one for the team" with that PCMCIA-IDE adaptor...seems to be an ongoing thing

What is the difference between the two drivers (old vs. new) Vars posted & why should I choose one over the other?

Sorry about that, I was just posting the link for everyone else who hadn't already bookmarked the page, since it's so useful and not everyone knows about the list yet.

You guys can always use card info, from Aminet to check if card get recognized at all. If it get recognized, it is a 16bit card...

http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/pccard from Aminet is a good program for this. The other is built-in into the cnet.device pack (card_info).

out of half a dozen old PCMCIA nics I have laying around, I managed to scrape up one off the list.... Xircoms, 3Coms, DLinks, all missed out. Fortunately one of the 3Coms was a 3C589D.

I thought I had a huge pile of these. Perhaps I lost/ditched them....

If you want to part with those PCMCIA network cards, why not offer 'em in Amibay?

We have a "recicle bin" "sub-forum" just for people willing for giveaway ancient "scrap"

Ask any moderator for the recycle bin access after your first login. What moderator, you said?

Ok, so my el-cheapo card arrived today.

Alas, the right tab (looking directly at the card's connector) is too tall/fat as with later 3.3v? PC Cards, so it won't even fit.

Do I dare trust the seller in his statement that it works with 5v PCMCIA? Should I trim the tab so it will fit my A1200's PCMCIA slot?

Go on...dare me...I might drink too much beer & be stupid enough to try!

Vars, could you please post some pics of the ones you actually had success with?
