XBOX 360 120GB hdd's on eBay: are they OK?

eBay is full of these 120GB HDD's , but I wonder, do they work like the original one? at this point I don't care to transfer data from my 20GB HDD... I am puzzled by this statement:
"it unable to save Xbox game save data , but it able to save xbox 360 game data, work fine on any country xbox live."

wth? Is this normal?

PS. I have no idea about x360 LOL I just got a 2nd hand one from a close friend

You cannot save from XBOX games, but FaultBOX360 games will save fine.

I think that's normal, not that I had any old XBOX games when I had a 360 to try.

I made my own. If you have a 20 or 60Gbyte one you can upgrade with a Western Digital Scorpio BEVS-LAT hard drive and then prep the drive with the 120Gbyte security sector and voila. Instant saving. Totally illegal but hey.

Google for HDDHackr

What's the point of games if your console never works long enough for you to play them

lol did someone say ps3 fanboy? only joking!! whilst there have been a LOT of 360 deaths, it must also be said there are many more working reliable 360's out there including mine which has not given me a seconds trouble, and the newer ones seem to be a lot better. Also do a quick google for ps3 faults they hadly seem to be the best made consoles ;o)
now back on topic the 120gb drives are fine they work well and it's easy to use the backup software, hope this helps.

PS3s failure rate is less than 1%, even the new "fixed" 360s have a higher failure rate than that.

You have the Wii and PS3 about even in reliability (Wii probably a little bit ahead), then there is the 360 way off.

I have a PS3 and it has worked perfectly for 12 months now, my kids have an Xbox360 and it has worked flawlessly for 2 years and my kids have a wii and it has worked flawlessly for 6 months so all in all I am happy about it

I prefer my PS3 to the kids Xbox360 though!

PS3 failure rate is just less advatised I think. Sony have a policy of swap out within a couple of days on ya door step if theres a problem with your console. this keeps everyone happy. When the courior swapped mine (stopped attempting to read discs) the driver mentioned that all he seems to do these days is swap ps3's.

Managed to break the Dualshock3 pad a few days ago (though not tried to replace on warrenty). Smallest/thinnest springs that can be manufactured im sure in the l2/r2 buttons and one went durring a vigiorous online battle in wipeout hd. took the older sixaxis pad apart to fix it , but im still one pad short now

I'm not a fanboy I prefer the PS3. I think it has a brighter future right now, despite the fact Microsoft keeps reducing the price of the XBox360.. Smells like Commodore/Atari all over again!

The things the PS3 can do is just great, and watching an avi or listening to music on my psp at work, streamed from my pc to ps3 and then sent to my PSP is just awesomeness

Anyway i'm miles off-topic so will shut up now
