Idefix 97 to another HD
Is there a way to install idefix 97 on another HD without original idefix floppy. The version that are installed on the old HD is regged, but the install floppydisk is gone. All the files are left on the old HD, so i suppose the reg/key file is there. Does anybody knows which files that i need. I have a dir called IDEFIX, but there is nothing there that is a reg/key file....perhaps in C dir.
Plz me. /PoliceQuest |

It did not help to overwrite the file (idefix.library), same message NOT REGISTRED bla bla bla.
Man, i have the RETAIL installation on a worthless 210mb IDE HD . I did copy all idefix files to a floppy, in case someone finds a solution to get this program regged with the files i got. Thanks guys! /PoliceQuest |

The registration program stored the position of the file on the hdd into the file. Copying the file will destroy the registration.
You could perhaps do an image copy of the old HDD to another HDD keeping partition sizes and file positions. Don't know if this works. Best and easiest would be to register again with your original registration key. |

IDEfix97 registration is weird.
I've got a fully registered version and it works fine, except that everytime I start Quake I get a prompt from IDEfix97 telling me that it's not registered. But it is registered when I check. If I close the prompt, it doesn't bother me again until the next time I start Quake! Steve. |

The Power of Google Computing is the key to your IDEFix97 problem.
Just out of curiosity, anyone know why they had to change the name from IDEFix97 to IDEMax? I heard it was a trademark / copyright issue but I've never heard of a similarly named product. Last edited by alexh; 29 September 2008 at 14:50. |

I believe it was to do with a Copyright issue with Asterix. There is a character in it called Idefix or something?
Yep, apparently the dog is called Idéfix (in the original french version, he's called Dogmatix here) More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogmatix |
