Just watched Cloverfield and IMHO it is a huge pile of bullshit. This fake documentary style is making me sick, the story is bollocks and the actors are crap. The effects aren't very good and for a 'monster' movie there are too few. Normally I find at least something that is not so bad, but this movie has quite nothing of interest. My rating 1/10...

@TCD
Totally agreed. The "documentary" style movies are worse than runny shit that you cannot hold in. Shaky cam movies are bad enough, but this is just wasting time and money trying to be "indy". |

Got some more for ya
![]() Superbad - cult humour, you might like it, you might not. I did! Golden Compass - bored the crap out of me, wasn't expecting it to be such a kids movie. Disjointed plot and doesn't finish the story. Kung Fu Panda - great movie, very funny. Go and see it! Iron Man - enjoyed this one too. It has a stompy robot fight at the end so it can't be bad. The Strangers - extremely tense killer thriller. Don't watch it alone! |

I like classic british comedy, like "you rang m'lord?", "dad's army", "the young ones" and "it ain't half hot mum". There are some new british series that are quite funny, but it isn't anything special anymore.

How can you spoil a hollywood movie? Rule #1: there must be some positive message in the movie Rule #2: somebody has to die for emotional values, even in a disney movie (old yeller ftw!) Rule #3: hire beautiful women with good cleavage, show guy in only underwear or if the movie is really crap show buttocks. Rule #4: graphics over content Rule #5: whatever you do, make it PG-13, even if it is a fucking alien VS predator movie. Of course there are more rules depending on genre, for example if it is a horror movie: Rule #H1: give people heart attacks in stead of investing time and effort into creating something horrific. Rule #H2: lead must be female because A) they can scream loudly and B) see rule #3. |

Cloverfield spoiler :
Twen party -> Earthquake -> Monster -> Escape -> People die -> Rescue girl -> More people die -> Escape in helicopter -> The rest dies Like this? ![]() I know what you mean gimbal. It a little game a friend of mine and myself play everytime we watch a new movie. He's slightly better than me in predicting the 'twists' in a movie. Let's say that less than 5% percent of the Hollywood movies nowadays are surprising in a way. |
