Exclamation Available Cyrix 386sx to 486slc2 cpu clip-on upgrades (GG386/486 cards upgrade!)

Hiya!
I want to inform you that eBay seller hm222 , has another 5 of the following cpu upgrades, they are new and sealed in their original packaging.
I have 3 of them, and used them to upgrade succesfully a GoldenGate486slc/25mhz to 486slc2/50mhz and my IBM 386sx/20mhz to 40mhz 486slc2 ... although not really a 486 upgrade, it behaves like a beefy 386DX , in any rate better than the onboard cpu LOL
here are some pics:

and here is my gg486 upgrade:

and here is my upgraded PS1/pro machine: (the green heatsink is part of the kit )

I am in no way affiliated with the seller, I have purchased 3 of these from him without any probs whatsoever, all NIB. I have asked him if he has more, and he said he has another 5. so if you need to uprade your goldengate or commodore 386sx bridgeboard, here is your chance, I never saw them on eBay before.

Thanks a lot!! I've contacted the seller, now waiting for response.

Full throttle actually runs on goldengate slc486, but not smoothly especially on action stage

I don't have small fan on my ggate, is that normal and ok for upgrade to slc2?

yes it is Ok, does you gg has a heatsink instead of the fan?
the upgrade comes with all needed parts, the clip-on cpu, a retainer piece and a special heatsink... is is better to also have a fan blowing air at the slc2...

i think it was pentiums and better that required cooling like fans, etc. high end 386/486 may have had cooling via heatsink. however a cpu can never be too cool!

good link btw keropi. nice to see you're helping out the community (brings a tear to my eye)

anything from 486DX and better needs a heatsink, and 486/80mhz and up need a fan too!
on the goldengate I have a small 2x2x1cm laptop fan blowing at the slc2, and it is always cool to touch... on my pc where I have not yet installed a fan, the slc2 is BURNING!

Hi,
yes there's a heatsink on gg.

I've got a prompt answer from the ebay seller, as you mentioned he still got 5 items to sell, a good news for ppl whom are looking for the cpu upgrade.

I bought one yesterday , thanks again for you help.

Yesterday my old HP Vectra 386SX 26mhz got some love
This upgrade really rocks...a 16mhz 386 isn't very usable for games after 1991

I got the same performance as a 386DX 40mhz now

The Origin games rock!! next thing is to try if Privateer has those sound crackles and squelch or whatever you call it...I think it's because I've used too fast PC's so the sound get's messed up even though I've used a SB Pro 2
'I have played it very briefly but got stuck on Ultima Underworld 1
