That's the problem with ebay, jokers selling 'copies' as originals! That dump can be checked by dlfrsilver and he can tell if it's an original that's been modified or a copy written on an Amiga drive!!

Ah, it's the european Gremlin version, not the U.S. Gold one.
It even says so in-game, why didn't I notice this before. *facepalm*

[edit]
According to info at whdload site, it's an unprotected re-release.

It's supported, I'll be updating the pre-installed game ASAP.
The old one was installed with WoW cracked version.

[edit 2]
WHDLoad version replaced.
I even cleaned the highscores, it's a "virgin" install now.

Abaddon has a dump that appears original (all tracks index-aligned), is virus free and also has a longtrack protection (possibly HLS), it's from the Action Amiga Compilation by Gremlin, uploaded to The Zone!

Seems the bootblock contains the protection check as installing a 1.3 bootblock allows an ADF to boot! Identified in VirusZ as the 'Motor Massacre' bootblock which is in the same compilation!

I dumped my Battle Squadron disk to SCP with GW. The disk looks an early one with plain B/W printed label. The dump loads fine in WinUAE. Converting to IPF with D-A it gives a T15.1 Unrecognized (*Unformatted) error with "Battle Squadron" format used? The IPF also loads fine. In HxC the SCP track and surrounding tracks look the same but this track has a few red bars above it.

The D-A output from both copies I have

T0.0: AmigaDOS Long Track (103300 Bits)
T0.1-79.1: Battle Squadron
T80.0-83.1: Unformatted

T0.0: AmigaDOS
T0.1-79.1: Battle Squadron
T80.0-83.1: Unformatted

You may need to redump it as 15.1 does contain data. The official IPFs also show track 15.1 as good

All dumps in the zone if you'd care to see them. The later dumps aren't progressing through T45 in WinUAE but T15.1 passes D-A conversion. (unexpected track length T0)

For the original dump with 15.1 error you can use the add -P7 to the command line of D-A to generate a good ipf with track 15.1 decoded correctly.

When I created the IPF from your latest dumps (Battle Squadron_5_revs.scp and Battle SquadronA.scp), they decoded correctly without the -P option and I was able to play the 1st level. Not sure the issue you're seeing.

I did some testing...I have a feeling you were running it in NTSC mode, which does freeze after pressing the fire button on the menu screen and track 45 is the last track read. It works fine in PAL mode.

I'll check the WinUAE settings. Thanks EDIT: I reset the WinUAE Display settings and it's working now. Thank You for your insight.

Shouldn't need to reset any settings, NTSC mode is a tick box in the Quickstart menu! If you tick it then NTSC is set automatically in the Display settings, probably that was the issue as WinUAE remembers the state of the NTSC tick box.

Thanks BarryB. Yes the NTSC box was ticked from previous trialing NTSC releases. Unticked now.
