With my Competiton Pro on port 1, I can't make a big jump over the tree trunk.
And with my HoneyBee on port 2, funnily enough, I can control 2 rabbits at the same time. I'll have to look for the old CD32 pads again...

When CD32 pads are detected, it uses them in a shared pad mode. This way it can be played four player on an Amiga with two pads (as an alternative to four joysticks and a dynablaster style adapter)

I can't explain the Competition Pro issue but I really need to do proper 'real hardware' testing. Is it not jumping at all when fire is pressed or it only does a tiny hop?
