Did nobody notice the enormously insulting "AGA" backronym which is nothing more than a cynical attempt to tickle the nostalgia neurons of the people most likely to fall for this? |

A website that has EVERYTHING about Amiga? Surely this is impossible!
This sounds amazing what's the url? Oh... you haven't made it yet? wait, what?.. you want £15,000 from our pockets to create your website? I think I will pass. This sounds like a cash grab, and how did David Pleasance get himself involved in this, I'm saddened. [ Show youtube player ] Last edited by Kitty; 06 June 2023 at 18:21. |

Whoops! Come back here after the longest time & commented in the wrong thread without seeing this one!
Seen the odd youtube video of Mr Pleasance through the years & always wondered the "What If's",if the CBM UK management buyout had been successful,(albeit years too late after the U.S. mismanagement reigns of Gould/Ali etc.),versus the vapourware of nothingness of Escom & beyond. But despite the "names" thrown around on that Kickstarter,I simply look back to community driven efforts, like when I first learned of Amiga emulation shortly after first jumping online & finding sites like "Back to the Roots",& ultimately finding the wonderful treasure trove here at EAB! In those heady dial up days, finding advice to access sites of adf's for games I'd only played demos of via The One & others,or previews in the magazines & playing them at last alongside my ones I'd owned! 'Will be forever grateful to the lovely people I met here at the time, like Amiga Boy,Twistin Ghost, Fred, Akira,Paul the Green Alien (RIP), Ian, & the likes of Galahad & Codetapper,(& CodyJarret too-whoops,old age catching up with the memories here!) who'd forgotten more than I'd know in several lifetimes! And the likes of JmmiJo who'd kindly explain the ins & outs of Windows stuff to try & work out some of these things like using an FTP! All that without a paid for access, what the heck are they peddling here "thing" of vague kickstarter promises?! Thank you to RCK for maintaining this little corner of Amiga for the ages, & indeed anyone else I forgot to give a shoutout to that helped at the time! Doubt we'd seen rescues of history like Putty Squad,Snow Bros.,or Liquid Kids without some of the tips & community work tracking down & sceners delicately negotiating for a possible release of unreleased coding treasures once thought lost! Thank you EAB! Last edited by 7-Zark-7; 06 June 2023 at 19:17. |

I just hope the irony of posting that kickstarter on EAB isn't lost on them. |

Well all i can say is that as I am totally alergic to subscriptions, I do not think this is a good idea.
I could do a wordpress siter easy without big expense. also no problem whatsoever to host a webpage for free.. in a proper datacenter. I was asked to say something but declined. we sadly do not need this. |

Same here! Subscriptions are the worst.
I will never be member of that stupid AGA club. Amiga, Commodore is owned by the people now. |

Not wanting to start a conspiracy theory, but.....
Is this Kickstarter from the real David Pleasance? I have backed a previous Kickstarter by him and this is not from the same account. Please, let's not bash people for supporting what they see worth their money even if it is not what you deem valuable. There's no need to do that.
Also, everything 7-Zark-7 said. Thank you EAB and the whole community. |

"Justin Mitchell" - I'm a Kiwi and never heard of the guy in all my years of being an Amiga user. Most Amiga users in NZ got known in the Amiga scene one way or another....
I'm all for a "one stop shop" portal, but not the way theyre wanting to do it. I have one already. Its called Google. And if that dosent help, I head here |

I'd also like to know what music exactly is on "Everybody's Girlfriend" Music Album - wonder if theres no track listing because they know the Amiga community will kick up a stink when they see their fav Amiga musicians tracks being used with no credit....

From the handshake coin logo to the certificate to the eagle mounting the world graphic in the testimonials..... the whole thing is tone deaf and embarrassing. The European Super League fiasco was hilarious but this takes the biscuit!
