You can put other files on there too, but only as storage, accessable only via flash program. So you can transfer them back and fore, but not run them. Think of it like a transfer kit in a way. i.e. Say its a command. You would. Have to transfer it back to ram or hdd in order to run it. Hope that makes sense. Sent from my I3113 using Tapatalk |

However we are talking about it having Cdrom access on boot, like the floppy and hdd. The way you and I are doing it, need floppy or hdd to mount cdrom and boot. I spose you could setup disk image to do it all, the have config with lowlevel and nonvolatile libraries. Sent from my I3113 using Tapatalk |

You misunderstood. I know all about this. Have already done. You just have disk in ROM. So its like booting from a built in floppy. I to have 1MB custom kickstarts. Done this many times, rather NOT do it. Rather have a card like this, that lets you do all this stuff without having to burn roms and mess around. Theres nothing special being done. He's just taken the squirrel CD32 boot disk and put it in the ROM. As I said I have already done this. How does he change the disk. He has to mess around reflashing roms. This card eliminates that. Dragging this off topic now. Last edited by FOL; 16 December 2020 at 18:41. |

just wondering if this card would allow me to flash the memory with the content of a rom, i.e. Action Replay for A1200, I have... and give me the chance to run it when needed... Let me know, Thanks Daniele Last edited by W4r3DeV1L; 17 December 2020 at 00:07. |

Does it have a boot priority set (e. g. if not a floppy is inserted and no hdd present, it will boot from Flash) or I must force boot through the boot menu, otherwise I get kickstart prompt purple screen?

Its simular, but not the same. It has highest priority, so if its bootable it will boot. Hence we have configs. So say you had Testkit adf there. You could have a Testkit config. When this is selected it will add the contents for that config on next boot and boot testkit. Last edited by FOL; 17 December 2020 at 10:27. |

Ah, so you have your own romdisk implementation? Will the open source module also work? You mentioned before that a rom module will just work.

Yes, it will (Im not sure if together with ours though at same time). The flash is exactly like a rom container. So any rom module that can be put in a rom or rom image, will work. Only problem with ROMDISK I found was, that you had to jump through hoops, just to assemble a disk image for ROM use. This way, you just use adf as is (although no compression, which is a shame), no messing about with installing python to run romdisk scripts. |

Do you think it would work on such a card? |

I think people are missing what this card is. As I said before, its hard to explain all features. You have to be using it to understand fully.
Simplest way to explain its main function. Its basically like Romulator for A1200 (or DENEB on A4000), but is able to do alot more. |

I have an unexpanded A1200 and am considering buying this card, even because of its 4MB of flash ram. Is anybody willing to share his experiences with it? Or is it just collecting dust on a shelf?
