Good to know Belgo, but Galahad's .ADF isn't public and cannot be found in TOSEC.

I wanted a trainer anyway so have switched to the WHDLoad version

It's the one I used for GameBase so it is public as it's been in the collection and available from the eab ftp for quite some time now

Unfortunately Galahad's crack is NDOS so I couldn't add, then test...

...but maybe Galahad or some other coder can

I've created a quick trainer for Galahad's version. In the zone. I've tested both trained and untrained and it seems to work 100%.

Just a quick note that it's not an "Unlimited energy trainer". I deliberately wrote something else (no death?) because I didn't want people getting confused when their energy went down.

Doesn't matter either way. I just want to clarify

A little report from my first hours of trying your great collection.

Overall, the experience has been really great. Everything is already well configurated and then following your tutos, i could easily change some small things to my preference (floppy sound mainly).

I made my 4 years old daughter play a bit of Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Island and she enjoyed it a lot.

A small thing abour Rainbow Island : i may i missed something but it seems that the "chose your start level" is kinda broken as after beating the first level, i went back to the start of this same level (i made another loop to check and it was the same thing).
But perhaps it's me not doing the right thing.

The trainer is a really useful thing to allow my daughter to enjoy the game, but if you come across a better trainer, it would be great to fix it.

There are numerous threads on EAB about bad cracks of this game. Too lazy at the moment to search though...

As far as I remember, the version I use is the only 100% completable one without issues.

Re: the level select not working correctly; to be honest I've never really tested that.

Ok, just tested this.

Selected "01" for the "Start at level"; which is "World 2 - Combat World".

Beat the boss on "Round 8"; and yes it went back to "Round 5"

Oh well.

Ok, so have now changed over to the WHDLoad version.

As it's necessary to view the "ReadMe" in order to know what the trainer options / in-game keys are; I've done this:

So, please just do the following:

• Delete the <gamedir> "C:\WinUAE\Games\Rainbow Islands - The Story of Bubble Bobble 2".
• Download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE".

Two small niggles with the WHDLoad version though:

1) The map of the islands goes by in a flash.
2) Not really a fan of 4 x rainbows, would be better if the trainer options were 2 and 3 rainbows.

Probably due to the quickest loading times..

Agree with you. But at least you can choose to activate it or not. The problem with the previous trainer was that it was impossible to deactivate it.

EDIT : Well, good news : doing exactly the same thing as with the previous trainer, i am no longer stuck at level one. So the game seems to be fixed and i find this version far better than the previous one (more care in the trainer, far more options, easy reset, etc...).
