Wow!!! Awesome news. Combined with the fact that the bild of my AA3000+ has now started and there is some progress on the DSP, we may end up with a very cool classic Amiga system!
Maybe I should think of recapping my A3000 PSU though I plan to use for it. |

@Trixster
AWESOME... Can not wait to get to work on my AA3000. Do you know the status of the dsp and what it will work with. |

I would suggest the freezing is an issue with your set up, not with the library.

It's either a pretty incredible coincidence that both systems have the same issues or there is an issue with Mediator v1s (which is the only thing our systems have in common) |

The original Mediator bridges are also ~18 years old, it's not inconceivable they have hardware issues of their own at this point. Oxidized connectors, aging sockets, failing capacitors (weren't these also assembled in the era of the capacitor plague?). |

@jbenam I’m pretty sure there are users on here with V1 Mediators who have the library working - I think grelbfarlk is one of them.
Last year you mentioned you have to underclock a voodoo to get it working correctly, you mentioned that sometimes your mediator disappears from the system, and you also reported fluctuating voltages (something was dropping to 3.7volts?), so it’s more likely an issue with your mediator and not an issue with V1 mediators and the library itself. A coincidence with another user having issues with this V1 is simply that, I think. I’ve had loads of issues getting ppc cards running stably since this project started, and in almost every circumstance it was a hardware/system set up issue to resolve rather than a library issue. |

I have to agree with those saying it's your Amiga hardware.
I have a 3000Di and it started really acting up and crashing. I sent my 3000 out for repair and that was the issue. Even though it seemed to run fine without the mediator. I almost guarantee that the Amiga needs a repair. It was funny, the 3000 even had a dried out capacitor. Trust me get it recapped and tested. |

Sadly I don't know anyone with a Mediator V2/V3. Otherwise I would have solved this long ago, I guess Quote:
The Mediator disappearing happens after the library crashes pretty badly, otherwise is stable as a rock (if I don't try to use InitPPC). I do indeed use the Mediator along the Voodoo3 all the time in my A4000 with no issues. I did also recap the entire PSU and now voltages are stable. I even built an ATX to A4000 adapter for testing and still the same symptoms. We can safely exclude the PSU. The rest of the system is stable when used as "normal" (WHDload, normal OS usage), I do indeed only get problems when trying to initialize the K1, which never works. The K1 works well in a PC. EDIT: Actually the voltages thing was my old multimeter, which was on its way out. I do now have a new, more precise multimeter with a much higher refresh rate and everything is fine Quote:

This sounds an awful lot like what I was seeing with my newest Mediator in an A4000D and the K1. It was extremely picky about slot order. I can barely remember but I think I ended up with the K1 in the 3rd slot from the top and a SCSI card in the top slot.
There was also a warm up factor where I would boot the system, let it sit ten minutes or so then reboot and it would work for hours. But I'm the only one that seemed to experience this. |

My Rapture card required about a 5/10 minute warm up time too.
