5,761,000 = 5,000,000 + 500,000 + 400,000 + 60,000 - 199,000 No progress, but better score. |

6,077,200 = 6,000,000 + 0 + 300,000 + 5,000 - 227,800 Progress! I had to punch down the level 5 boss and ended up finishing it on 1 health. I didn't find a way to avoid its damage as it rolls across. Guess you have to jump? |

Maybe it will work, but there is a more easy way. This "shrimp" boss can be beaten without loosing a single life or bar of energy. I think my "hyper-wonderful" drawing doesn't need any further comment to understand how to beat the boss |

I was thinking of trying that. That'll make getting to level 6 in wolf mode much easier. |

I said it... Something unfair in the formula if I compare my score and John one.
I have 6 lives left, he has 1 but we have only about 200K difference because, contrary to him, I searched for and got all orbs and bonuses (not sure, but got a lot for sure ) and killed all enemies. Anyway, and fortunately the formula is not part of the game . It's only part of this round. Wolfchild is a really enjoyable game. I have as much pleasure playing it as I had pleasure playing "Celtic Heart" 7'250'800 = (6 * 1'000'000) + (0 * 500'000) + (6 * 100'000) + (15 * 5'000) - 424'200 + 1'000'000 By the way, congratulation to all of you who finished the game guys Last edited by malko; 06 March 2020 at 23:35. 6,621,900 = 6,000,000 + 500,000 + 300,000 + 75,000 - 253,100 Almost there! I lost lots of health on the swingy things and punching isn't a viable strategy past that. |

7,305,300 = 6,000,000 + 1,000,000 + 500,000 + 85,000 - 279,700 Success! I really enjoyed that game. As much as the enemy positioning likes to troll, with care most of it can be negotiated safely. The end boss was a bit weird but... sure, I'll take it. Also, I was trying to loot whore but I'm not as good at that as Malko apparently. |

As it says in the second post below the rules, snap your final image as the boss appears, not after the boss. This is the same rule as Jim Power, and players were happy to take screenshots before attempting the final boss. Sorry if this wasnt so clear. |

But after playing the game, it's clear that most of the enemies simply just don't reappear. Only a really really really small portion of them (you have to miss a jump to fall and find yourself slightly before on the level - only possible on level 1 & 2 (from memory, maybe maximum 6-7 enemies)). Thus for every player that is 'seriously' playing the game, the score simply reflect the true progress. That's the reason I think the formula is not so fair for this round. Quote:
(I also have in stock the 'start of levels' and 'checkpoints' screenshots) |

Thus the minus score-part of the formula. Which we have adapted to and now it'd be unfair to change it again (too late in the round). |

[ Show youtube player ] Killed every enemy only once. Still haven't figured out how to beat the final boss without energy loss but I haven't done any training. Last edited by john4p; 08 March 2020 at 21:10. |

We have been asked to look into the rules on training. After a week of discussion, the moderators have come up with three new rules for the competition. I'll post them here and also on Lemon, and they will take effect as of the start of the next round. No training, or use of passwords or trainers within the time-frame of the round, even if they are present in cracks and distributed/linked versions of the game, or accessed by menus/passwords within the game itself, unless an exception is given by the mods to do so. (SOTB2/Worthy). Players are encouraged to learn about the games by trial and error, although they can watch youtube/player provided/longplay footage to discover secrets. The speed which the game plays on your computer must match the play speed on a real Amiga. This is 50FPS on a PAL machine and 60FPS if we are playing an NTSC game. NTSC games can be played in PAL mode and at 50FPS speed; as this was the standard back in the day. Scores/footage made with the games played below 50fps are not acceptable. Scores made with the game speed above 50fps are acceptable. (e.g. Lotus 1/Test Drive 2 -53fps). |

So did I (as usual). There is only one enemy I can't kill on level 5 as he is too high on the platform and, at this place, I never have with me the weapon that search for enemy :
Quote:
By looking at his moving pattern and shoot, I think I have found where to place/move the hero in a way that works at 95%. On my tonight's go, get hit only once . I am also happy because I found even more orbs, thus I have "exploded" my best score ! It was nice of you to play the normal way. The coming week, I will try to beat you with a low score . @lifeschool : ok |

^ Crazy. Glad I don't have to find these orbs for a low score.
Couldn't kill this enemy either (only with smart bomb). @lifeschool: Thanks for clearly defining the rules. |
