Obscure ACID module
It was around '90-'91 when I got in my hands some PD(???) disk of unknown origin, containing some SoundTacker modules.
One of them was a funky track, IIRC named "acid (something)" and all I remember was some funny sampled voice yelling "Aciiiiiii-Aciii-Aciiiiiiiiiid!!!" between the sounds of the instruments and another voice repeating now and then "this is a new style of music". Nice track, I liked it much back then, unfortunately today I have long lost the disk and haven't found any info at all about it, even though I have made a rather broad research. Any help?? |

Well ...
The Aciiiid sample is most probably the one from the D-Mob song from 1989 - appearing at second 4 on [ Show youtube player ] the "This is a new style of music" sample must be certainly the one from "the Sound of C" by the Confetti's - apearing at second 24 on [ Show youtube player ] Wasn't Belgium the coolest place on earth back then? :-) Those 2 samples where very often used in mods from that time, but a mod that use them BOTH is for example "extazy" : sample 4, 7 and 8 on http://www.stef.be/bassoontracker/?f...duleid%3D42991 Maybe that's the one? |

I'd like to mention that 'This is the sound of C' and other tracks from Belgium were called 'New Beat', a genre which had a short appearance in the late 80s

Basically you are describing half of the New Beat and some early acid tracks. They all had almost identical samples/chants in these songs LOL

I think that this was my last long lost information, mod-wise...
Anything else I was after has been found, through the years! Now I'm looking for two old Invisible Crime cracks ("Speedball" and "Batman, the Caped Crusader", supposed to include the famous banana-intro with the awesome "vampire" mod), but this is another story... Could you help with that, as well? http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...08#post1268908 |
