I don't know if it makes a difference running it from cli, it's made to run from the script, but as you can see or try, it doesn't happen running it normally.

It seems to work when I run it from WB using the icon, so apparently there is a difference.

How about including PowerWindows in AKReal? I really like to have that feature.

Well, you can install whatever you like, but to start that install requires to patch the rom with BlizKick or other.

Also what do think if you read this in the readme?:

"-Remember. This is only version 1.2! ! ! Expect some bugs and crashes. "

I don't like bugs and crashes, do you?

I have been using it for a while without any issues but you are right, the ROM update is not optimal as it makes it a lot more tricky to install. Can it not be patched through something like LoadModule or similar so that it only requires an update to SS?

Sorry, no idea.

Well, to tell the truth my idea is that it can't be done with LoadModule or similar. I've seen some threads in the past about "AmiKit" trying to make something similar.

Hi Rayan:

I've got Poseidon and the RapidRoad working perfect with my A1200 and AKReal. If you had any problem with the installation, run it again. You can download the file from here:

http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/RapidRoad#Software_download

But first make sure that RapidRoad is well connected to the clockport.
If you made the install manually you maybe missed to copy the file in the Startup-Sequence or the user-startup.

Run the Poseidon installer with the pendrive pluged in, it will detect it. When the installation finishes go to AmiKit:Prefs and open the Trident preferences. Save them and it will save the Psdstackloader file in Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive for the next booting.

The icons in a Full install of AKReal 8.7 are the original ones, so in the original TrueColor images format*. You can find in AmiKit:Tools, "Icons to 3.5 format" using a program by Thomas Rapp, and if you use it they will be faster in that format. To have icons using 16 colors (even faster) you need to download and install the "16 Colors Ken's icons set" from the site that will offer you two kind of icons or the possibility to restore the original ones:

http://real.amiga.sk/downloads.htm

*Most TrueColor icons, like Ken’s icons too, have 1000-2500 colors. Usually, these icons are 32 bit (4x8bit for RGBA or ARGB for OS4).

As a reference, the original Ken's icons can use about 9000 bytes, the icons in 3.5 format around 4000 and the 16 colors icons about 1800, just remembering.

You are welcome . I knew it would work as I tried it again to know what it needs/what it makes.

Edit: BTW here you've got two scripts to start or close Poseidon, attached. They are very useful

I already use the gui skins of birdie without FPU. It must be something of the Vampire you use. Try it on WinUAE and see how it works without FPU. I also use it with my ACA 30/56.

If it isn't working but not crashing your Vampire, try increasing the Wait for Birdie in the S-S. The Vampire boots extremely fast.

Here:

Code:
IF NOT EXISTS C:DisableBirdie
C:Wait 1 ;prevents Birdie from not loading the background picture.
   Run >NIL: SYS:Utilities/Expansion/Birdie/Birdie ? <Env:Birdie.prefs
ENDIF
And of course, if you've used the script in Tools called "Disable CGX_Aga&Birdie" now you can delete from C "DisableBirdie" or edit the S-S and comment the lines that prevent Birdie to work.

You already have two different ones in AKReal, you can find them in Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys/Pointers (AGA or RTG drawers). You only should sustitute the pointer.prefs in Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive/sys. Both work with AGA, but I prefer to use the one of the RTG drawer for RTG as some screenmodes there work better with that pointer.

Hi!
First of all I have to say I think Amikit Real is really great.
I am running it on a Amiga 1200.
Had 8.6 installed and it worked fine and used Genesis for network connection.
Upgraded to 8.7 and it was even better because I got more chip memory available with 8.7.
What I'm wondering now is if 8.7 is doing anything to Genesis because it doesn't work anymore.
It connects but I can't communicate with anything.
Works fine in 8.6.

Humm... I included Ken's icons for Genesis on 8.7. They may be interfering with your settings. I heard something related some days ago about BB4.

Just set again your internet settings with Genesis and try it. Please report if you find any problem.

Edit: Remember this (so important) about Genesis, as there were two editions of OS3.9: http://www.gregdonner.org/os39faq/internetapps.html#1

But now I don't think that's your problem. Maybe the icons info change some setting in your config, so as I say, try to set it again.

In any case, make a backup of the icons and run again the Genesis prefs. If they don't work, install again the pack from the OS3.9 internet pack and then using CopyIcon change the icons.

Please tell what works for you. I'm now thinking by your report and the things I've heard about BB4 to include the icons just in a drawer, but maybe it is just that you have to run the Genesis prefs as the first time, now that you have the new improved icons.

I have tried to run the Genesis Wizard again and also Genesis prefs but it's the same problem.
I will try some more.
Maybe see if I can find Genesis on the OS3.9 CD and install it again if that's possible.

Yes, you have an option with OS3.9 to install the internet software. Sorry, in my next update I will include the Ken's icons in a drawer.

Thanks a lot for telling, I actually only use RoadShow.

Edit: WIP 16C screenshot, but a fix has to be done in a program yet.
