I don't do packs, that's Turrans job after I upload new installs.
Do you mean make all games & demos from whdownload available on ftp instead of just new updates ? |

Well if it's okay with Turran, I'll see to it in the next couple of weeks.

I could just upload the whole unpacked and merged version of the packs. Problem is that there are people who like to download the whole FTP from time to time and I try to keep duplicate stuff to a minimum because of that =)
I had it like that to begin with but people were leeching for days on end because of the many small files. Not really suited for an FTP =) When the full whdload packs is extracted, there are a lot of files. If the games were individually archived, I guess its fine. |

Did you skip Where In Europe Is Carmen Sandiego? by accident? I noticed that you went from Where In The USA Is Carmen Sandiego? to African Raiders-01.

Nope, I added it to my wanted list in OP, it seems to be easier to squeeze water from a stone than to find a compatible disk image for that game.

Thanks Sting.
I deleted my Fakebook account some weeks ago, so in the future I'll drop you a line here if needed. But the reason why I didn't do it is because I don't feel comfortable nagging WHD authors for disk images. That's just my humble nature. |

That's not nagging so feel free to ask for any missing images in the future for patches I have made. |

Question for you Retroplay.
I'm putting together a new update pack for the games and I notice that the amount of games that can not be unpacked on a PC is growing for every update. Its mostly empty 0 byte files with no name. In the games that was updated from October to now, the list is Code:
BlackCauldron_v1.2_2057.lha: Cannot create BlackCauldron\data\Save\ DinoWars_v1.1.lha: Cannot create DinoWars\saves\ Reunion_v1.1.lha: Cannot create Reunion\data\intro\ Reunion_v1.1.lha: Cannot create Reunion\data\save\ Reunion_v1.1_AGA.lha: Cannot create ReunionAGA\data\save\ Reunion_v1.1_AGA_De_0568.lha: Cannot create ReunionAGADe\data\save\ Reunion_v1.1_De_0569.lha: Cannot create ReunionDe\data\intro\ Reunion_v1.1_De_0569.lha: Cannot create ReunionDe\data\save\ SpaceQuest_v1.2_1484.lha: Cannot create SpaceQuest\data\Save\ SpaceQuest_v1.2_1484.lha: Cannot create SpaceQuest\data\Save2\ AdventuresOfGenlockHolmes_v1.0.lha: Cannot create AdventuresOfGenlockHolmes\data\devs\clipboards\ In the BlackCauldron\data\Save\ folder is a 0 byte file in the archive. Comparing it to BlackCauldron 1.0 (which can be unpacked on a PC), the "Save" folder is empty. Is there a reason for the 0 byte file or can we do without it? I do not want to mess with your packaging but every game I have to put into the "UnpackOnAmiga" folder feels like a loss =( Can it be avoided? Thanks =) Edit: Is it because of this update notice perhaps? "RawDIC imager to save files from game disk" Raw dick is never good. You all know that. The save folder is just an empty folder and you can't save game without it.
However, if a savegame is present it seems to extract fine. Black Cauldron is replaced on ftp now. But then again, that's why I always recommend extracting on Amiga side to avoid errors like this. |

What file ?
I know WinRAR complains but 7zip ignores the save folder completely. Extracted on Amiga side, there's nothing in the folder. I think that's it. |

Ok, then its Winrar the is stupid. See my original screenshot. Winrar sees an empty 0 byte file in the folder.
Thanks for the explanation. Edit: Yeah, winrar complains about the folders, but still creates them. It sees something in them that it can not extract, but it should be empty so its OK anyway. =) Last edited by Turran; 28 December 2015 at 15:15. |

Here's the original archive opened in 7zip.
It doesn't even see the empty folder at all but as a 0 byte file, it extracts fine though, you just have to make the folder yourself. Perhaps I should repack the affected games with dummyfiles to avoid these kinds of errors ? |

Nah, its fine. Winrar can see the folder and creates it.
As long as we know about it, its fine IMO. Thanks thought =) Interesting behavior though. I wonder if its lha in general they have problems with.. Last edited by Turran; 28 December 2015 at 16:08. |
