Question AmigaAmp does not play although it says that it is!

Hi there!

Something strange is happening with my install of AmigaAmp v2.25 with the 68k decoding engine and mpega.library for 68060 on my Amiga1200 with Workbench 3.1 and AHI v6.0: it starts and it loads a MP3 file and then it says that it is playing the music (the "play arrow" is shown) but the time stays at 0 and no sound is played.

(It is the same problem as here but the solution to reboot does not make any difference.)

I used SnoopDos to see if anything was missing and, as far as I can tell, I have all the required libaries (AsyncIO, PopupMenu... which I downloaded from Aminet). I think that AHI is working because I can play and hear the test sound. (I chose Paula 14 bit calibrated.)

I know that AmigaAmp should work because it works very well in my other install, running AmiKit Real

Any idea why the MP3 would not be played?
Thanks!

To get proper stereo sound you have to select a mode with "++" at the end.

In AHI prefs you can make settings for five different units. The first is "music unit" and the other four are "unit 0" through "unit 3". AmigaAmp by default uses "unit 0", so make sure that you made proper settings for "unit 0".

Thomas you just made my day

I add selected "Paula:HiFi 14 bit stereo++ calibrated" in the first page of the cycle-button, "Music Unit" ("Unité musicale" in my French Workbench), in the AHI Prefs... but not in the page "Unit 0"... Silly me!!!

Now, I can finally listen to cool MP3! Thanks a lot!

(The AHI user interface (or AmigaAmp and other players) could maybe warn users when a driver is selected on the first page but not on any of the unit pages )
