>So you believe when you put all the patches in the ROM users will come back?
YES ! Without patches, AmigaOS is simpler, so users will come back for sure... I know many guys who are left because AmigaOS become too complicated : patchs, add-on, different versions (000, 020, 040, 060) of a same prg, two different RTG softwares... >I guess it's time for you to realise that people left because the Amiga is dead Lol ! >and not because of "zillions of patches" It's one of the reason... Of course, it's not the only reason... |

OK, in the interest of maximum stability I have released BB4 V0.7b which omits the exec.library/SetPatch upgrade. When there are no known bugs remaining I will reintegrate it into BB4.

Ok, I found for the 45.22 !
Not really a bug... cybppc.dev and certainly blizzppc.dev (please, Mad-Matt, check) call some AOS functions without the full API... (=> in the Zone) Maybe another bug in the 45.23... Still searching... |

I received this follow-up to the bug report:
"I've modified my startup-sequence to use Setpatch 44.40 as follows: C:Version >NIL: exec.library 45 IF WARN C:Loadresident >NIL: Libs:exec.library ENDIF C:SetPatch QUIET SKIPROMUPDATES exec.library Now, I will explain why I believe this works. Setpatch >44.17 attempts to place the Kicktags in FASTMEM which causes exec.library to fail on reboot. Loadresident places the Kicktags in CHIPMEM and exec.library works fine. Apparently, the Setpatch AVOIDMEMFKICKFORPATCHES option is broken! So until Setpatch can be fixed the above S-S should provide a workaround." |

The saga continues... :-)
"I installed the revised AmigaOS Update [that was in the Zone] and it still fails unless I use "SKIPROMUPDATES exec.library". However, it fails differently than the other version. Instead of the infinite reboot error loop it will give a software error or recoverable error and sometimes boot successfully and then crash when I load an application. Since, I could at least get bootmenu to boot with no startup-sequence I decided to run Setpatch from the shell and redirect the output to a text file which is included below. My accelerator card is a C= A3640. Checksum failure! exec.library, exec 45.22 (24.07.2010) by Cosmos AMIGA ROM Operating System and Libraries Copyright © 1985-2002 Amiga, Inc. All Rights Reserved. I will ask PeterK, he is probably busy, just be patient, we all have a life and do this just for fun.
And in the meantime, use the .172 one that comes with the latest BB4. |

@Gulliver:
Can you convince FroggerNG (http://frogger.rules.pl/downloads.html ) author to release it freely to the community, as it can no longer be purchased ? It would be a nice addition for BoingBag 4. |

Just to let the interested ones know that PeterK has updated his icon.library to 46.4.175, and of course, it fixes between other things that infamous iconification bug.
It is available on Aminet, and it is of course part of the updated BoingBag 4 version 0.7e, which is available at the usual places. Thank you PeterK! |

OK, OK...
... but I feel very sorry for the long delay. I was offline and didn't use my PC for nearly 2 months due to my poor health condition. Btw, what kind of "other things", gulliver ?? |

@PeterK
I was referring to the .172 -> .173 fix, which I cant remember what it was (that is the other things). Many of us, were still using .172 and not .173 due to the iconification bug. |
