Virus Alert in beta versions.

AVG AntiVirus Free gives a virus alert on this files; WinUAE_3300b15 and WinUAE_3300b16, both 32-Bit versions. The 64-Bit versions don't have this virus alert. My whole Windows partition have been scanned many times for virus and it's clean. I can't get access to the files even after selecting "Ignore threat" in AVG's scanner. The Virus it claim's the files have are "Win32/Heri".

My System: Windows 10 Home, Version 1511, OS-Build 10586.318, 64-Bit.
AVG AntiVirus Free: Build 16.71.7598.

Have other that use AVG on Windows 10 64-Bit had the same problem?

AVG is the only one of 56 scanners which detects a virus. I would say false alarm.

Same "Win32/Heri" has previously been detected at least 3 times by AVG only.

Can the files be "white listed" somewhere? At AVG's own site?

AVG (and earlier Avast) gives me false positives all the time. I always trust WinUAE to be virus free, Toni isn't going let something like that happen.

I know the files are virus free, but the damn AVG wouldn't give me access to the 32-Bits versions of the betas and the only way to get rid of the virus nag is to let AVG delete the files and that's a big shame. So the upcoming 32-Bit of WinUAE 3.3 have to get "white listed".

Then why do you still use this unreliable virus scanner? There are enough alternatives. Defender/MSE i.e. isn't any worse or better than AVG.

Turn off AVG, download and Unpack the files, turn on AVG.
Or use Defender as Retro suggested.

Well, why is it then so hard to get this file "White Listed"? I don't trust all that come from Microsoft and I don't want to use Defender or MSE!!

But you trust a virus scanner that outputs false positives pretty regularly because their heuristic databases sucks badly since years? This is a homemade problem. Use other scan software if it annoys you. It is that simple.

btw: Do you really use Windows 10 Home? Then you are completely in Microsofts hands anyway, despite the fact you try to avoid their virus/malware tools. Well, try BitDefender then.

No free AV is actually worth using, but there's quite a misinformation campaign going on that would have you believe the very opposite. When it comes to this type of software, it's either the best or it's altogether garbage.

NOD32 for detection (hands down) and Kaspersky for damage control; there's no pussyfooting around it if you know what you're dealing with.

False positive, yes, though better have it err on the side of caution.

I must admit I never got false flags with avast on winuae. I tried AVG prior to avast but had that same experience with other clean software, popping up avg with false positives.
