Mace vs. Black Tiger

Mace was released in 1988.

The arcade version of Black Tiger was released in 1989.

I couldn't have a closer look at Mace as I didn't find any ADF, but there seems to be a lot of similarities to Black Tiger - the snakes, the look of the hero...

Did Capcom steal the idea, did they buy a license, or is it just coincidence that both games look the same?

Could anybody provide an ADF of Mace?

Black Tiger was released in the arcades in 1987, a year before Mace.

O_o

Could you explain me then why it says 1990 in the year field, but in the title screen you can clearly see 1989?

Check the arcade screenshot at the bottom of the HOL Black Tiger entry. It says (c) Capcom 1987.

The conversion to the Amiga was probably done in 1989 and the copyright date incorrectly labelled as 1989. It was then released on the Amiga in 1990 - in the UK at least, as magazines such as CU Amiga and Amiga Format reviewed it in that year.

Copyright dates are often not a good way to work out release dates, especially with multiple conversions of a game.

I doubt the copyright date was incorrectly labelled. U.S. Gold probably secured the license from Capcom to make computer conversions in 1989 or started work on the Amiga conversion in 1989. No doubt applying copyright in 1989 was a means of protecting against blatant Black Tiger rip-offs like Mace being released by other companies, whilst coding of the official conversion was being worked on (remember R-Type vs Katakis).
