jotsticks or pads ??
Thinking of getting a joystick or game-pad to work with FS-UAE.
WHich one would be better for this ? And would i have any issues here ?? Anything would be better than using keyboard as joystick.. My main emulated machines are A500+/ A1200 and CD32 stuff too, with CD32 i gather being the main problem. What do u reckon? |

Amazing.
If you get a 360 controller you basically have both of course and they cost almost nothing. |

Get a nice arcade stick if you're serious about Amiga gaming. Costs a lot more than a pad, but they're a million times better than any pad for eight direction based games. Also useful for MAME.

Old school joysticks are the best in my opinion (I have far too many). My favourite being the Competition Pro 5000 (black and red) :

Pads all the way, CD32 PAD all the way, .
But thats just me. For emulation, I use 360 Pad, it works lovely. |

A 9-pin to usb adaptor and a 9-pin joystick is the way to go, if you want to add the feeling you're playing on a real machine.
Suncom TAC-2 is a very good choice, if you're looking for a retro joystick. |

I am using this adapter:
http://www.sinchai.de/index.php?main...roducts_id=137 It is a kit, very easy to solder. You can use two classic joysticks with it. I can really recommend it. |

Using a quickshot ii turbo here with vice & winuae via a db9 to usb adapter I purchased from ebay. I could never got on with using an xbox 360 controller when playing old games on these emulators, nothing beats using a classic joystick and the qs 2 turbo was my favourite back in the day.

Arcade sticks are usually very good, better than the quality of most Amiga joysticks, but stupidly expensive. You can build your own, but Hori and Mad Catz make some joysticks with good parts.
If everything else fails buy a x360 pad. |
